Thanks.Jeff. Actually I usually shoot them with the sharpest lens I've got and then do the softening in PP. Even the pre-ASPH Lux 50 is that sharp. I've got Dan's old R 90 AA and You can see blemishes with it that you can't see with your bare eyes. However, the skin work isn't hard and it gives you more freedom over the final image. Both of the images above have been cleaned up with Imagenomic Portraiture. What I want to see is the eyes and eye lashes absolutely sharp. You've go that in your image so just soften her skin a bit and she'll love it.
Excellent portraits Rod Love #1
Beautiful shots Dan!
Really nice shot Jeff. This is where Imagenomic Portraiture does wonders for softening portraits. There is no person perfect under the close scrutiny of an excellent lens, even soft lighting. You can use it a layer in auto mode, and blend it in very subtely.
First morning in Bangkok, raining and took a stroll in some outdoor markets for about 20 mins. Here are some shots from this morning. All shot with the 50 Lux Ashp, wide open. The shots have no PP, other than marginally cropping. Once I get back home, I will PP where needed.
My synopsis of just using the M9 with the 50 Lux Asph walking around...love it Last trip was with the 5DII and ZE 35/2 as the walk around lens.
The rest of the shots are linked in Zenfolio, here
Charles, vignette is from putting the filter holder on top of the nd. I'll experiment with stepping up to 58mm first. In-camera saturation setting probably a bit high, don't remember. Once again I haven't had a chance to process raw files (no computer in NZ) so we'll see when I get back. Plenty of bracketing done to help where possible
Nothing like what you do, but cute to me nonetheless. I'm working on getting better. I couldn't get any lower to her level due to people behind me.. and she's 1 ft 8 in. shorter than me so .. heh. Suffice it to say I have a lot of downward shots.
