KL, looking forward to reading the interview!
Thanks Joe - very nice image even if it is often photographed. I feel you've captured a nice moment with the quality of the light and colors.
LL, nice composition and texture.
Robert, I really like the first and last!
Luka, the 50 Lux is very impressive. If/when I get a Leica lens, I'd like that one first, though realistically it might be the 90 Summarit instead.
I've got a huge backlog of images to work on now... NYC, Wisconsin... so of course today I went out for a short walk and snapped a few hundred more. It was one of those days where things just caught my eye and I kept on a roll, though in hindsight I wouldn't consider any of the images outstanding. I guess it was more so for creative exercise.
M9 & ZM50P unless noted otherwise.

As for live view in a Leica... Not sure how they'd do it, but it would be cool to combine the traditional rangefinder with a built in EVF where one could switch between OVF or EVF like in the X100. I'd really like an EVF live view option for critical focus with longer lenses, especially wide open. As I mentioned a while ago, my ZM50P is definitely off and the CV75 f/1.8 has a bit of focus shift, so an EVF option would allow accurate focusing (and composition when needed) without having to send equipment away for calibration. That's perhaps one aspect about the Leica that to me doesn't feel 'professional' because I have to ship the camera to the USA and wait a few weeks for it to be serviced. Meanwhile, I'm a 45 minute drive from Canon and most CPS repairs now are turned around in a few days, and loaners are always available. Anyway, I like the rangefinder experience, so would like to see Leica keep it, which I'd be surprised if they didn't. But there's definitely room for modernization.
Ron, great shots! Always amazed how you grab shots from mundane subjects, and make for interesting composition I agree, the turn around for Leica repairs needs to be quicker, and loan cameras and lenses also need to be on the agenda too.
Ron, I'll have to disagree - I think #6 is outstanding. The whole set is very nice

It's finally ready for publication - delay entirely my fault, as I had visitors from out of town for the last week - Here's Luka's amazing interview! Thanks for agreeing to do the interview Luka - I've learnt a lot from you over these past few years - you're an amazing photographer.
The +Photographer Interview featuring our very own Luka is here http://plusphotographer.tumblr.com/post/9403840577/luka-crnkovic-dodig-entrepreneur-photographer
KL, thanks a lot for taking the time to organize these interviews - looking forward to reading the next one!
KL and Luka - that was a great interview. I finally got caught up with the last few and also really enjoyed them, including Joe's - and read the 'traveling salesman' story from that 1949 Life issue linked in Joe's interview. As an aside, the quality of the photography in that story was excellent and it's sad to rarely see such extensive photoessays nowadays.
Here are a few more from yesterday - some sumac branches from the grove I posted back about 6-7 weeks ago:
First three with the ZM50P, the last with the ZM35C, all wide open.
Here are some more gratuitous flare shots all with the ZM50P:
My guess is the interesting nature of the starburst is from the sun shining through the leaves and appearing as multiple specular light sources to the lens/sensor.
I look forward to the day when sensors have extreme dynamic range and the sun doesn't blow out so ungracefully. In the second of the four above you can see that the sun hotspot is starting to 'tear' which I last saw with the original Canon 1D with sun-in-image photos. I guess it's a CCD thing.

What to say, lovely atmoshere ;-)
Luka, love the colors from your 50Lux shot! Perfect rendering too.
Robert, nice set! I like the last composition with the lighting contrast best.
KL, thanks again for sharing your interviews. Love this latest installment featuring our talented Luka!
Ron, another few excellent sets. Don't you ever run out of hard disk space to store all your pics? The roof shot is definitely my favorite from the first set. Beautiful! I've been trying to take a similar shot of our roof but have not been successful The second set with the flare shot is excellent! Plus the effect of the 4th shot of the 3rd set is another nice one, you made the grass look like miniature pine trees. Yeah, I do miss all those great photographs and essays from these older magazines too.
Charles, wonderful moments captured!
The new NEX 7 seems interesting but why is the new Zeiss 24mm lens so big, since its already a mirrorless design Is it because of AF? Really makes me appreciate my M mount lenses.

I never really had to deal with sun flare and extremely blown highlights until I started shooting at Acadia. I wish I had a grad filter when I took this shot. Metered for the sky and the foreground was completed black. Luckily with the M9 I could pull back some details on the foreground bur albeit with some color shift.
Cadillac Mountain at dawn, Acadia NP. Between Oct and March, this is supposedly the first place to see the sunrise in the USA. M9 28Cron.
Charles - great portraits! With the M9 there's rarely an excuse not to bring a camera along for family and friends photos.
Joe - beautiful! I hope to eventually get out to Maine. Sounds like the same technique as me... no grads, just expose for the highlights, hope there isn't much, or any banding, and open up areas selectively in post. Hard drives: I just buy more I have about 45 at the moment, most are backups of backups as I've migrated to newer, larger drives. Who says digital is free? Instead of buying film, every couple months I'm buying a couple more drives.
Nate - excellent set. I really enjoy browsing your travels on your Flickr feed. So how have you been getting along with the M9 lately?
Thanks. My M9 has been ticking along very well. I just came back from just over 2 weeks on the road with it in Mongolia and then on a Magnum workshop. The junk covering Leica tries to pass of as vulcanite is peeling off, the white M9 logo has fallen out (which saves me a piece of gaffer's tape) and it's showing plenty of wear; however, the focus is basically still spot on with all my lenses. SInce the latest firmware came out I've actually been able to use the camera the way I like too, so I am reasonably happy aside from all of the short comings of the camera that most everyone already knows about.
