Joe, it's at Giza, Khafre’s pyramid (Chefren). It's by a couple of meters slightly smaller than Khufu's (Cheop's) Great Pyarmid of Giza. You can tell them apart as Chefren's pyramid has some of the lime stone casing left at the top. Originally the pyramids had an entirely smooth outer casing of white lime stone which ended up as construction material in the old mosques of Cairo.
Dameon, yes the shadows were just boosted in post. It is a sort of HDR when you compress the larger dynamic range into a displayable one, but it's from one single exposure and done just by tweaking the image exposure paremeters in Lightroom.
Edward, cool canyon shots! Looks like a fascinating place.
Great shots with the 35 Lux II Charles! You can't imagine how jelaous I'm of your climate in Australia.
Speaking of the 35 Lux, I knew from the start that it was a great lens, but I was taken by suprise today. The DPI numbers are off the chart! (Ducks Per Image)
, I only shot a few deer, no ducks around! A few very large magpies who wouldn't let me near enough. I think the 7d images may be better.. i posted 2 over here
Incoming...special advisory (wink) a second announcement, now that black is out of "vogue" at Adorama, the two tone silver/black is showing in stock! Imagine! I love the look, but am sticking with stealthy black at this time.
Luka, very nice shot! I really like how the 35 Lux attracts DPI Must be very good luck! The weather now after the disastrous floods is superb. Not too humid, and about 28decC every day Must come for a visit
Sure thing. You know I been pondering some glass for conversion to Nikon mount, and in fact bought an 80 summilux R mount to convert, it arrives tomorrow. The pain to order Leitax stuff, and all, and just the whole process really didn't seem to appealing. I'd thought about selling some nikon gear for a while to gain further entry to Leica side. I wanted to feel "Free", I wanted to feel less inhibited by the gear itself sometimes, more engaged to the subjects I seek out, and seem more stealth like with my appearance. I felt Leica was the way to do so. My first M lens will be the 35mm Summicron APSH. That is all. One lens, and one goal. Of course, I do have the 24 Elmarit on the X1 too. Shame those are so close in focal length, but I love the 35mm focal length anyway, and 24 is wide enough, so once I backfill with a 75 or 90, I will have a decent kit I think and if I really think I need something long sometime, I got that well covered withi nikon.
oh, ouch, I forgot about the crop factor, thanks for the reminder I think you just cost me 3 grand. lol.
Nice images from your 35 lux. I hope my cron performs well. I love 35mm on full frame anyway, but the X1 may not travel with me now, in fact, it may go for sale, we'll see.
Payback for your 'm9 is in stock' posts abusively fighting my willpower!
More beautiful shots Luka...do you walk every night for hours..or drive to other places, or simply find new angles...seems you are all over your city..it's great.
I have to sell some stuff too Hooligan, the process has already started, of course, it doesn't help when I keep buying...
Hey Gregory, the magician. Looks like that building in next to last picture has the same architect as our university library here! I will have to shoot it for you to see, unbelievable.
Charles, your shots are making me want to visit - I'd love to live there.. simply lovely.
Gregory, I like the construction worker shadow shot.. good stuff!
Doug - I'm already past the point of feeling it's inevitable. I'll either find one used or buy new from europe though.. as it's $800 less straight away and another 700 or so in taxes saved... though I'm not sure about import duty to the us on an item of that price....
The spreadsheet is out though.. I may have to switch to ramen aside from selling on gear.

A few more from last year with the M9 and 35CronIV. I wanted to sell the 35CronIV after getting the 35Lux ASPH but finally decided not to. Think I'll stick to the old adage, never sell Leica lenses. The 35CronIV is so compact and a great for street walkabout.
