Has anyone experienced calibration of the focus confirmation with the Dandelion chip. The information provided by Dandelion is pretty brief. Do I need to calibrate and how do I know that mine is requires calibration? The information mentioned that the chip is pre-calibrated in the "middle position" and is that not good enough?
Any information will be most appreciated. I've just got my Laitex mount fixed and programmed except this "correction of confirmation dot" process.
I would take a set of pics and see if you think it needs any calibration for front or backfocusing. What I tend to do is get a measuring tape and tripod out. I focus at several distances wide open to see how much focus is off if any. If it front focuses then you increase the number and if it backfocuses then decrease the number, or at least that's how I do it for mine. Find which number gives best focus at the various distances. If you plan on using it at one primary distance or f stop then calibrate for that setting.
