Thank you freaklikeme. Decided to use manual focus glasses during Saturdays Street Dancing competition and Sunday's Floral Float Parade. I had an AF glass lurking in my backpack but resisted temptation to use it...
This is typical for this lens. It is not a great lens for technical subjects wide open, but it is awesome for portraits and soft subjects. Stopped down it is vey sharp, even to f/2.8.
The 90 Cron is far from a slouch, and for many things it is close to the 80 Lux, but for portraits the 80 Lux jumps way ahead. It also gets sharper stopped down, although maybe that was just my copies.

The Cron R 90 is fantastic lens and I love it too. It's my first Leica lens (its the older version). Sharp, constrasty, gorgeous rendering & bokeh and ... small !!
At first I planned to pick one and sell the other (Lux 80 or Cron 90) but both has equal place in my heart so that I decided to keep them both. Maybe I have to let one go if someday I need to finance a Telyt 280/4 or 280/2.8 if I want it so bad
I've been working my way through the first 25 pages but now it's time to go to bed. Outstanding pictures.
I've been hoping to find some pics taken with the Elmarit-R 35mm 2.8 (first version, I've read it has problems with contrast and flare) and a few more with the Elmarit-R 90 2.8 (not the latest version, but not the chrome version either - have seen a few excellent pics). The reason is that these two are on offer with a Leicaflex SL for a relatively good price (not on the bay).
Also would like to know how the 90/2.8 Elmarit would compare against a Nikkor 85/f2 (which I already have).
Finally got my adaptor and shot with my recently acquired 100/2.8 APO Macro.
Sadly, it confirmed that I am total rubbish at MF in 100-150 range.
Somewhat depressing, but glad it's me and not the lens..
