not sure if i mentioned this on the blog or not, but i LOVE 24...feels like it could have been taken a long time ago...it's great. oh and 49. oh and 79. oh and 92. oh and most of the ones in between.
while i agree with every thing gabe said, i do think that there is something to be said about stylistic difference. some couples don't want their connection captured in the form of ethereal, emotional portraiture, but want to portray themselves in a more goofy/contrived way. (dont mean contrived in a negative sense, its just the only word i could think of) sam is a shot planner, he draws stuff out the day before or whatever. i dont think you or i do that gabe, because for us its much more about the little looks in their eyes or stuff that is just them naturally (not holding instruments in an alley, for instance).
from this stuff, i see sam moving away from the more contrived stuff though, at least with the non-portraits. i think thats probably why gabe stepped in, because there are actually grounds for comparison now.
my only thing is that the balloons should have been round, rather than birthday party style. the coolest part about balloons in a shoot has never been balloons, but the juxtaposition of perfect geometry over natural/unperfect patterns like trees and what not.
I guess I'm the only non-Sam fan on this board. I just don't get it; decent images, but nowhere on par with the other "Greats" on this board, sorry Sam, no offense.
