I see what you are referring to at 1:21. It appears to be smoke it might be from some dust or something in the air but from the angle the vid is shot from it looks to be in front of the Einstein and not coming from the unit itself.
Einsteins have been through many hours of torture tests without any trace of smoke or problems. Each is fired at least 100 times at full power in burn in pre-shipment testing. The source of the puff of smoke in the video is likely a little finger oil (maybe he was eating Taco Bell and transferred it to the dome!). Now if smoke of longer duration were coming from a light following a series of high power pops this would indicate internal overheating. In this video the smoke occurs immediately upon firing, which is pretty common for any new flash and particularly if there is any oil contamination present. Einstein has a sophisticated series of internal heat sensors to prevent any overheat damage.
We did complete analysis today and found a slight puff of smoke occasionally on new Einsteins. We traced it to dust or mold release on the frosted dome. It will dissipate after a few flashes. You will find this on any high power flash if there is any contamination on the flashtube. In this regard, we have several customers who are using WLX3200 for various weird tasks including burning barnacles off boat hulls (literally) and for rapidly curing dental adhesives. There are several links to the dental use on Google.
Even on the early WL10,000 units, when I did all the testing myself, I found I had sunburns on my arms all the time.

Ugh...I just realized what this means...you're getting a dose of UV radiation from the old non-UV shielded tubes...need sunblock w/ the old WL10K units

I'd like to see what a Speedo quad tube could do with four 2400ws packs and a sports reflector.
Back with I was a student I burned the edge of a Matthews flag I was using as a cutter in front of a just such a rig it was about a foot in front of the head. I was shooting a still life with an 8x10 and having to pop the system multiple times to get f/128 on low ISO film.
I got my Einsteins and a Cyber Commander and I'm sure I read that you can control the Einsteins power from the CC but can't find it in the manuals. Can someone shead some light on this for me. Gregg
