p.3 #1 · lochan na h-achlaise ` The Malt Teaser`

Sorry for a basic question, but aside for the change in the clouds, was there another reason to use the ND filter and long exposure?

No, none what so ever
this lochen sees a lot of photographers, even on our few days there we probably saw 20-30 different photogs, possibly more.
therefore i wass looking for a completely different style of shot, hence the long exp time.
as Aaron noted in the post above, this can be very tricky to achive as the blending can be troublesome. however i took these three shots after i had taken the `standard` fare.

hope that helps,

simon

The light is fabulous and the long exposure creates an attractive softness in the water and the clouds.

Hi David,
the softness to the water was not created with the filter or long exposure, just 3" of ice reflecting the light from the heavens

Wow, some amazing golden light there, and the dusting of snow on the mountains also adds to the overall scene.
