Yes I have tried at least 3-4 brands of adapters, and they all work somewhat ok but not surprisingly the best ones were also the most expensive ones (Rayqual/Kindai). If not the ones from jinfinance on evilbay are also ok but the lens focusing scale will not point upwards, it will be off by 30 degrees approx.
Have you tried the one from James Lao advertised on Dyxum? His is aluminum, not brass, but it's solid. I tried it with a Tak 50/1.4 and Viv S1 90 macro, and the distance scale is always on top. Admittedly, his is not the cheapest, but it does come with customized chip to show exif, IS, and focus confirmation. It doesn't push the pin in though.

Guys, What a horrible color from your Sony cams. You should throw them away and buy a Canon 30D instead. It has a much better color rendition
If in doubt, ask Denoir
, I saw that one too. His pictures are beautiful, especially with the Rollei 35. But the way he was so certain that the A900 is completely trash really cracked me up. We know people lust after our AF Zeiss, but admittedly, for Alternative gear, Sony is not so hot on that. And ZA line is still quite limited in prime.

I know that many people are using them very happily, but I personally don't care for chipped adapters. Call me a dinosaur if you like, but what I enjoy most about alt lenses, is that they force me to go down to the basics, no AF lights, no SSS, strictly manual mode... etc.

More from a local festival:
Yeah, I know, he's a nice guy and a great photographer, just too opinionated at times
well, it's not that simple though. After removing the old mount, you will have to do a custom aperture lever to link to the aperture ring. Adjusting infinity focus from the front after removing the ID ring from the front. That should get you infinity. So far I have done this one, a 28/2 and a 35/2 SSC. They are quite good indeed.
