p.1 #1 · Album Company, Has anyone used this one??
Hey everyone...
I've had no problems with Graphi Studio up until this point & it has just been all bad =( I ordered an album... and all the pages came warped. Sent it back to them... took about 5-6 weeks to get it back, and the "fixed" album came back even worse!! The pages were warped even more!!! Now I have to send it back yet again & wait another 5-6 weeks. And quite frankly, I'm afraid the pages will come back warped again.
This is the 1st issues I've had with them but let's just say I'm now looking for alternatives b/c I'm really unhappy how Graphi is dealing with everything. They just seem WAY to laid back about everything like it's not a big deal... and all I want is to just give me bride her final album that she paid for already ASAP.
I was really upset how the fixed album came back worse!! You know how it goes... "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool my twice... "
Anyhow.. I've heard really great things about Picto books. However, I was also looking into:
Album Epocha
Does any here use them or has used them before?? They look really similar to Graphi but I'm hoping the quality is better & that the pages don't arrive warped. How's their overall quality, look & feel??

I design my own albums. So I'm not really worried about the layouts... I'm more concerned with the quality of the actual physical album. And by looking closely at that background... it looks like it was designed to be that way. I could be wrong... but the transparent layer doesn't look like that in Photoshop.
Anyhow... still would like to know if anyone here has used them or seen their albums?

Hey Kurtis...
yeah, that's why I'm wondering if anyone has used them here. I don't think they look that bad from the pics.
I did a quick google search on them (Album Epoca) & came up with their price list. I dunno if it's correct or not. But the PDF I found online is from 2009 & their albums pretty much start @ $600 for 40pages plus around $200+ for a cover. So they are starting at around $800 for a 40 page album w/ a cover. That about triple the price of graphi... so I'm assuming they should be way better?

Kurtis...
I just sent you a PM. If you get a chance.. please let me know when you have a moment.
I just keep hearing so many great things about Picto books... it's not even funny. I guess they are the go to album maker. But as you said... I would still like to personally see an album in person.

I've met with some local photogs who use Epoca. The quality of the binding & printing looks good to my eye, though I was wondering the same thing in the "Favorite Album Company" thread, wondering if anyone had a point of reference to other albums.
Search out "Starshine Photography" in Edmonton, AB. Maybe drop her an email. I know she uses these albums, might be able to answer your more specific questions.
