p.1 #1 · Scanning 4x4 Chromes and negs

Hi,

I need to get some of my 4x4 chromes and negatives into digital format. What is the best way to go about this? Does anybody have an cost conscious suggestions? Recs on services, scanners are welcome....
Thanks!

Some only, a slide copier that can handle 4x4 plus a digital camera?
More, a flatbed scanner and a custom made 4x4 mask.

I use an old Agfa Arcus II flatbed scanner with the top used to scan negatives and transparancies on a G4 mac with OS 9.2 because Agfa abandoned the American market and did not want to upgrade its drivers.

But it has great software features and was expensive, about $1400. Look on ebay.

The Canon CanoScan 8800F does a pretty good job. You should be able to get a new one for around $250 or less.
