That sounds like one sweet lens that is going for a song. If there 85mm is any indication of what we can expect, then I am second in line right after you.
Indeed, a very interesting lens. If quality is anywhere near their 85mm, it should be a winner. My bag has a spot reserved for it, looking forward to the first reviews.
Hmmmmm? I'm on the list for the new Canon 24mm L TS-E II but haven't a clue when I'll get one. The 17mm variant is interesting too but maybe too wide for what I want. Maybe this lens at 14mm would be a practical way to go wider. Hmmm?

I would rather say it is pretty good considering the cost. Photozone just reviewed it on the 5D2, and while the center is good, the borders really catch-up only by f/4. IMHO if you can live with f/1.8 the EF 85/1.8 is really much better (and has auto-focus).
does anyone sell the products in the US? Their website shows an exclusive dealer in Poland, but is everyone to order from there? I'm all in a lather to draw my own conclusions about this 85mm f1.4!
I see that Adorama has Samyang T mount 500mm f/8 mirror lenses and their nearly absurd 800-1300mm zoom, but B&H search has never heard of them.
You could always pick up Canon's 14mm f2.8, or the Sigma (out of production now) off ebay for less than $500. I got the Sigma, and it is a wonderful lens...though prone to flare.

I've owned and used it--and the Canon 1.2 and 1.8.

Whatever copy they tested is not representative of what a good copy can do. Mine is as sharp as my (sold) FD 85/1.2 SSC Aspherical (Great Grandpa) between f1.4 and f2.8.
