Might be the same person - since he is operating out of Brooklyn NY as well...the seller of my adapter also is based in Brooklyn (though I am sure imports from China). Whether these folk(s) do anything to make the adapter a better fit on the 35-70mm F3.4 is anyone's guess.
That's the one I have, and it works great. Tell you what, I just picked up the original hood & ring for it, so PM your address and you can have this one free of charge.

No - you need a 67 to 77mm step up ring (get the S & W one he sells..it is perfect). And then the 77mm metal lens hood. That is what I use and it works fine at all apertures and focal lengths. The 67mm metal hood will vignette noticeably at the 35mm (wide angle and macro) setting.
The 67mm standard hood will vignette, but the 67mm wide angle hood works fine at all settings. Believe me, I bought both of them!

I have been ordering all my adapters from these folks below and the CY to EOS AF confirm adapter below appears to be just about identical but of course i cant check the thickness with a picture. I did have to shim it a little with some tape to get a real snug fit on the 35-70 but it works great. They fit snug on all my other MF lenses except the 35-70 for some reason.
I have been using Fotodiox almost exclusively. The extra cost is worth it IMO. However at some point I figure I am going to Leitax my favourite Zeiss's.

Great triplet, plasticmotif!
CJ, if you tell me that your macro is handlheld, I will turn green with envy!
One of mine, on a Sony NEX 5
Philber, shooting macros handheld are not that hard. Just have good light and brace yourself. I have shot up to 5 x lifesize handheld.
Try and you will see!
Thanks Wilco23. Camera is a Canon 40D. Got a good deal on it including a battery grip. Originally intend to purchase a Leitax Nikon mount for the 35-70 but I backed out looking at the process for changing the mount at the Leitax site.
Well, I will try and try again, but, in the interim, please tell me more about your approach. Should I hold my cam and lens in a "death grip", or go for a more relaxed stance?

For single flowers or insects I use the left hand brace that Dalantech over at the macro forum invented. The idea is to hold the flower with your left hand. Rest the lens on your hand/arm (depending on the working distance) and then you and the flower will move together.
Some of you MF wizards & Gurus might know the answer to this question in regards to serial numbers & production years of this CY 35-70/f3.4 but i could not find any relevant data.
I sent an e-mail directly to Zeiss in Germany and received this reply back this morning:

Comment:
Myself and several friends have purchased the vintage CY 35-70 F3.4 zoom lens and nobody knows when this lens was 1st produced or the serial number in relation to the various production year models.
Can you supply me with this data for informational purposes?
Thank you very much for a reply as i have not been able to find this data anywhere.
