I tried to get some interplay between both the texture of the wood grain and the texture of the basket weave in different planes of focus.
With so many great shots coming out every week in the WA, I really do appreciate the comments ... and seeing everyone elses pics. They are both good for helping to nudge forward.
Beautiful entry, Kent! The color and sharpness are great. My pet peeve is shallow DOF but I'm something of an anomaly when it comes to that sort of thing, so don't go by what I like. Very well done!
Strad ... yes, the DOF is a bit shallower than I intended. Some of that is due to the changing planes that I didn't account for accurately.
I could have stopped down more, but I was shooting with a maximum sharpness aperture in mind ... re-shoot, probably 1-2 more stops and take my chances with diffraction. Thanks.
