Jim. These shots show off 35/2 very well. Very nice capture of light!
Thanks, Luka. Yes, this lens has terrific color and contrast!
dwood and mfoto -- Very nice samples of that new Milvus 50. I'm surprised how little CA is showing in the traffic scene, and how nice the contrast is in both images. Has the focus shift issue from the earlier model been solved?
Thank Gunzorro. This is my first ZE, other than renting a ZE 21 a couple of years ago, so I am afraid I cannot tell you about the focus shift issue. So far I am impressed with the colour and general quality of the Milvus 50. It's heavy but a nice manageable size on the 5DsR. Still getting used to MF. Have missed some shot but generally okay for non moving topics.

It should have been solved as the new Milvus 50 f/1.4 has a floating element, which should mean basically no focus shift.

I have the Milvus 50/1.4 distagon. Focus shift doesn't exist on this lens. and also it doesnt have the dreamy effect of the classic planar.
But wide open seems to me it's hard to nail focus.
From a recent outing with friends to the south-east part of Iceland. After owning at some point, most of the ZE lenses while I was using Canon, I was very happy to finally get my hands on a 25/2.8 ZF.2 to use on my now owned D810 + A7r. Head over heels in love with that little lens.
I have a question. You mentioned you had many ZE lenses in the past. Did you ever have the 25mm f2 or the 28mm f2, and if so how would you compare them with your 25mm 2.8? Thanks.

Thanks! Actually the 28/2 was one of the few I didn't have, and the 25/2 hadn't come out when I was "collecting" the ZE's I imagine the 25/2.8 has more things in common with regards to drawing style to the 28/2 than the 25/2, with the 28/2 belonging to the "old designs" and the 25/2 to the new ones. The 25/2.8 isn't flawless, it has some CA and close up IQ isn't very good, although the lens can focus unrealistically close and pretty much clarifies as a macro, but far distances have insane resolution. What I like the most is the compactness, it almost feels native on the A7r and is also very comfortable on the D810. I dream about owning the 28/2 as well.
