Thanks. The truth is that the Atacama is butt ugly. It is so monotonous and featureless that even nitrate mines and electricity poles become welcome attractions in the landscape. That said, there are of course a few nice locations but it is a 2000 km drive to go from #1 to #5 via the other locations.

Thanks! Good luck finding a time without tourists present while you have decent light, maybe pre-dawn? I did several captures from the same spot, and with the long exposure they were all pretty polluted with light from aircraft, camera phone displays and flashes going off. This was the best of the bunch. But in the end I like a little bit of action going on.
