Great portraits, 100 is art lens, 135 is clean medical lens. If you consider a circle as a brush stroke.
if my otus calculations are correct
85-55=30
55-30=25
next otus lens is 24 or 25mm
Otus medical since only doctors can afford it...
To me it looks like fashion/cinema lens. They must make a set, so videographers can invest in a "box" of them, 120mm, 24mm, 85,55.. And otus with modern (as I like to call regular ze zf.2) are not to be mixed for videos, they have different look. One thing that drives me away from Otus (besides the price) is that they can not focus close, also I could buy 2/25 and 135 APO for the same price. I could probably live with only one otus, 35mm. On a crop body it would be 55 and on a full little bit wider. And 3 zeisses are too much to carry. They say otus is built like cinema lens and it is same design for cinema lenses and they dont have problems with dust and rain etc.. But also there are lot of complaints with Otus/Nikon set ups, err 7 if I remember, something with contacts. And it looks to me that it can catch a lot of dust (looking at the cross section of otus lens) and distance scale opening.
If it is so much about technical achievement, why didn't they make some special paint that is hard to scratch, dust protection, fancy square hood. Maybe they could produce ultra light robust metal, hard, but very light. Otus also has apo rings, double blur, but still probably the best 55/85mm today.
I have sold my 1.4/35 and 2/100MP ZE, will probably go to Nikon mounts in the future. Nikon has recently impressed me with colors, resolution, tones etc.. But Canon has impressive build quality, my 60D shows no signs of getting older, which I primarily bought because of tilt screen. On the other sides Nikon has so many issues.. nevertheless I will probably buy Zf.2 mount in the future. Although the best way to go is ZE for canon and ZF.2 for Nikon. I am thinking about 135 APO and 2/25.

Some people say that the P1.4/85 has character and that the MP2/100 is clinical. Now you write that the MP is art and the AS2/135 clean medical. The truth is that few people could tell these lenses apart at the f-number and display size that I used.
Otherwise I will always prefer the 'better' lens, since it is easier to focus*, and since it is a lot easier to add character in post than to remove it.
Yes exactly, I thought that 1.4/35 is magical, and has special unicorn powder sprinkled on lens elements.. but it is just under corrected spherical. Still amazing though (amazing blur). Definitely better than 2/35, but heavier.
100MP produces some amazing painterly effects, and it has many purposes, it is good for landscape, good for macro, good for painterly renditions. Multipurpose. 135 Cant do macro, has APO smoothness in blur (too nice), is extremely sharp.
This is very nice example of art characteristics of 100MP, link

That would be perfect, unless: http://www.dslr-forum.de/showthread.php?p=12599179

There must be a reason he uses it as a paper weight
