great shot and comment!
i don't have 85P, so can't give any comment. but i have canon 85L and really like it. i don't see myself replacing the 85L to the zeiss counterpart, eventhough i'm familiar with zeiss colors and contrast. 85L is just good enough for me.
about 50P, i love how it renders bokeh while it may be considered ugly by other users.
you have to understand its characteristic to like it.because just like above comment, shots from 50P can be surprising.
I had the 85L II for a while. I liked the lens but not the AF . . . too slow. I eventually found myself not using it and therefore sold it. Now I'm considering something with a different character than the 100mm MP at or near that focal length.
Thanks for the comments.
I also owned the 85L and honestly: I didn't really like it. The AF is sluggish and it's as heavy as a rock. I also prefer the colors/contrast of my 85P.
Nice dramatic sky rodluvan.
Interesting composition Z.
John, I also like the b&w actually. It's indeed different.

I've decided to let my trusty 50MP ZE go because I don't like having too much lenses, so European people looking for a mint one... contact me
Too bad it wasn't a ZF (or ZF.2) or I'd be inclined to give that some consideration
Another with the D700+ 1.4/35 @1.4 (optimal focus is on furthest eye, but I find the dof acceptable even for the closer one)
