The 50P is better than the charts indicate for the center, not necessarily for the borders. The figures at the bottom of page 27 show a similar case.
Thanks for the link...I came across it some time ago but got sidetracked before finishing it...together with your comments I'm understanding a little more now though.
I have long thought that when I eventually start buying I may pick up both 50s and compare for my own preferences...from what I've seen here I do like both and how each does it differently.
These D800 pics ...the bigger they get, the sharper they get. The dof was the 1st thing I saw on my 21 ...frightened the hell out of me. Look at how it still keeps the perception of depth ...awesome.
Hey Z ...Do you have somewhere I can go to see your pics as a collective. Always been impressed by your strong sense of style and think that seeing all the pics together as having even more power. Did Ronny's snail pics make you hungry?
Jojo is still in the awe phase, Bob I love them all ...and akul, get back to work.
Canon is lucky that Nikon didn't come out with a D800E that was compatible with Canon EF lenses! There would be a huge mob of Canon owners lining up for this body. I'd want one!
Lieutenant - That tennis shot is a one amazing shot. Great capture!!
Ronny - Snail shots are quite amazing. Beautiful color pp and use of shallow DOF. Second shot looks choreographed. For a moment I thought it was a CG, only because of the unison stood out so much. Great works!
nicoimages - I am salivating on the beautiful rendition of 800E.
picture this - Very nice color and saturated bokeh. Wonderful comp.
Bob - Beautiful sunset shots. FIrst two are just beautiful.

Ant, thanks for your comment ; it means a lot coming from you because you're one of the very best photographers I've ever seen.
You should know that I stopped eating snails since I gobble up frogs and kangaroo every morning for breakfast -)
You're right, I should get a website (yours is awesome) but I am afraid that is incompatible with my limited computer skills.

Thanks man :-) Fine and good images from you from Minnewaska State park and Mountain Laurel
Thank you Grenache (Jim)!
I can't keep up posting that often, I just visit the thread on and off to be in touch! Amazing studies of the Zeiss line up, I learn more and more about my lenses here, sometimes even ashamed that I knew so little about them.
Jim, guess what, we've got that small brother out, 4 weeks in the mean time:
Hope you are not offended!

@Ronny _Olsson: stunning snail shots. Nice textures and toning.
@Lieutenant Z: nice find of the "lost flower".
@nicoimages: lots of details. Looks very impressive.
@Picture This!: beautiful colours.
@rji2goleez: nice sunset.
@akul: great view in the second shot.
@Grenache: nice depth in "The descent" and "None shall pass" and your "Favorite things" brought a smile to my face.
@te4o: lovely.
@Rodluvan: I like the bokeh with context.
@zhangyue: how did you take these pictures? Were you standing on the track?
I went to Paris on the annual school trip for 3rd graders (14-15years old) and took my 5D2 and Zeiss 21, Sigma 50 and Zeiss 100 with. I took many shots, but most off them are snapshots of the students. Below are the shots with the Zeiss 21 and 100 (both are ZF with the same adapter, so EXIF always says 100mm f/2. 21 own adapter is on its way).
First some standard Paris shots (all with the 21):
