Like Wilhelm, here are a few shots with 5D2 and ZE 21/2.8 from today (congrats on getting the lens!). The first two at ISO 100, the third at ISO 1600, and the last one at ISO 3200 with no NR.

.. sold why? I think bokeh alone is reason to have it. Not mentioning other qualities shared within Zeiss lens.

Really nice colors on that car...

Thanks. Yeah, actually this is the 2nd from the darkest in a 7-bracket tone-mapping set. I found that Shadows/Highlights did enough for me so lazy as I am I just went with that. This explains the green shadows as well.

Haha, okay, sometimes I just have to ask Nice shot in any case.

Thanks guys. I took the lens to Kyoto for a few days a few days ago. It was barren there too except for this one tree. And in a really picturesque location too - between two traditionally roofed buildings.

Kururu, you're in Nagoya too I see... Kewl! We oughtta meet up!

Here's a couple more shots of that tree - which I thought didn't really turn out:

^^ 100% crop ^^

Thanks for the comments folks!

Carsten: Hmm, now that you mention it, I think it may indeed be the case [wild guess is about 20-30%; will have to check again to be sure]

Bif: The color shot with the door open; that is very, very nice.

Rodluvan: Yes, that will be an alt line within an alt line. (The 28/2, 50P, 85P ). Looking forward to more pics.

Siddhu: that tree shot with 100MP is awesome!

Wfrank: that is one epic shot. It does look like a scene straight out of Quake/Unreal !

Gregg: Lively color in the first set [Santa Cruz] but I somehow like the second set of examples more! Especially that of the red car with 85P !

Samuli: I am eager to see more shots from you with this lens but definitely a nice start !

Greggf, both car and kid shots are great. Really love the lighting and 3D sense.

I got back to the Redwoods in between the rain two weeks ago and had a little more time to shoot. These are all with the 35/1.4.
