Thank you Abhijeeth, Lars, Luka for your comments.
So many nice photos as usual. Abhijeeth is probably bored of reading my compliments but that last photo is outstanding. Gary, love both shots. Luka, beautiful black and white tonality. Ron, very nicely done. Love the monochromatic feel.
Lots of nice photos from everyone. Too many to comment on.
Samuli, thanks for posting your thoughts on the 85P vs. the 100MP. Every now and then I consider getting one or both of the planars to complement the 50MP and 100MP. Your comments and photos are very helpful.
Siddhu, from what I have heard manual focusing is quite poor (as expected) with the 5D3. For me, the 5D3 would be live-view only when using manual focus lenses, especially since two of my three Zeiss Z* lenses are adapted ZF versions.

Anybody try out the 5D3 with ZE lenses yet? I'm wondering what manual focusing is going to be like since we can't exchange screens.
I wanted to rent a 5D3 this weekend but they are not in yet.
@Gary - fantastic shots!
I haven't been following this or other discussions very much regarding the 5DIII and it's focusing screen. Perhaps, it's because I don't see the issue. I've had my 5DIII almost a week, and while I haven't had too much time with it, I love this camera, it's metering and focus system, it's high ISO capabilities and more. Shooting mostly Zeiss ZE glass, I'm able to achieve critical focus through the VF much more quickly than with the 5DII. The change is so dramatic that street shooting for me is now realistic whereas with the 5DII, I felt slow and lethargic. Maybe that's just me.
I wouldn't have even thought about an alternative focus screen until these discussions began. To me, there's been no reason to consider it.

Thanks for the comments everyone, very much appreciated !
Edward : I am definitely far, far away from being bored
Rodluvan,LZ, and many other users of 85P and 50P: Please keep those photos coming! Those lenses are a treat and I have to try them sometime. Both lenses are an 'acquired taste' IMO and for folks that find out and know what they are getting into, playing with these lenses appears to be rewarding.
Samuli: That has to be one of my favorite shots ever for a shoe! No body would like to caress a shoe, let alone a used one and let alone somebody else's! But it makes me want to pick it up and examine it closely [plus it looks clean from this angle !] Seriously good shot! The other samples linked are also very good [my favs are the 2 with snow in gentle warm sunlight!]
Also, if it means you can post more often and more freely, we can slightly change the title of thread to make you feel better about posting text only!
Kururu: 3rd one is nice & pleasant, 2nd one is nicer and the 1st one is just stunning!! Beautiful composition. Color [especially against an almost monotonic background] and shallow DoF adds to a lot of pop !
Gary: How are you finding the 25 for distant landscapes? Not able to assess detail due to resize but I am trying to compare it to the 21mm [central 2/3rds of the frame; at distances close to infinity] I am not worried about the performance drop off at extreme corners.
A lot of discussion on the 5d3 focusing screen. It **appears** that one can change it just like on the 7d ? [I know it is not as simple as changing it on the 5d or 5d2]
kururu, great shots from 2/100. Really liked the lightning on first one, how you did light the face so well in 1st one? (she can't have that 'light' skin tone) The 2nd one look almost miniatyr or fake somehow due the grass in focus plane being so sharp, great lightning even so 'hard' light.
Gary thanks for 2/25 samples, we don't have too many. Based on how images look I assume you don't do step sharpening instead you downsize and then sharpen? (guessing based on halo on the mountain/sky edge and lack of textures)
Ron, liked the 1st one very much, the shallow DOF (I assume wide open) suits quite well for this composition. 2nd one obviously shoot wide open (I would assume based on bokeh quality), great 3D even with thin DOF but I would bet 0.01$ that it would be even better ~f/2.8 or even f/4.

Edward, the colors (or actually tones of colors) in the portrait of young boy somehow remind me of my early childhood/1970s. Don't know why, I doubt the colors were different than they are in 2012...

Have to start shooting more with it.

This would have died 500 pages ago if this would have been "Z* lens discussion". Also watching just photos would be boring.
I think if I look deep enough to my Apple Aperture libraries I'm pretty sure I find 10-12 more photos from Austria and 50 photos from Norway from 2009 and 2010 summer holidays (thou most with C/Y lenses), and soon the spring starts so I doubt I run out of photos (thou the processing is boring as hell). If somebody needs to remove the barrier from my mind for posting without image to this thread, it's nobody else than myself...
...two photos with two very different lenses 85P and 100MP, which is which? Both shoot f/5.6, 15s, ISO 100
PS. No point discussing, which looks better, since I didn't manage (I'm rusty due to not shooting for ages) to focus them identically, they have about 4mm different placement of focus plane.
+1 again (based on quick impression before reading the comments). There's no "scientific" reason that I think B is the MP, but it just seems to "pop" a little bit more (which I would guess would be a more likely characteristic for the Makro lens at close distances). B also seems to have a warmer color cast, but I don't know which lens that would indicate.

+3. Second image seems to have more microcontrast which makes it appear to have more details.
They have almost identical rendering in this case. B was slightly back focused compare to A. So I can't really judge from sharpness POV. But I do feel MP100 has warmer color than P85, and another clue is B seems has less DOF than A, given A has both sharper shoe head at front and lace laying on the ground at back compare to B. B must be Mp100 as I always feel MP100 has sharper transition from in to out of focus and warmer color compare to P85.
