Focus ring is great, very soft but also difficult.
You can't trust canon red focusing light in viewfinder, your eyes only.
Doing so I am getting better results,
Light Pilgrim advised me shooting this way, he was right!
thanks
35mm 1.4 is a great lens, the best i've ever mount.
Glad it works out. Show your pic here is very easy. just hit the share button in your flickr, choose the size (1024) and grab the link: start with http: end with .jpg. That is it.
Wide open and your subject is close enough to see, you can use eye with S-type screen. if subject distance is long, it will still be hit and miss. IMO, if your focus confirmation is off, you might still need adjust it. once you get familiar how it behave, say you always turn a little further or less once it blink based on distance, you can trust it more. You will get it there with more experience by using it. This is important, especially for long distance and stop down the lens.
ZF35 is beautiful at wide open, but nothing short of marvelous once stop down.
Frezeiss, that first portrait is really nice.
Luka, nice forest series.
Z, Nice work with the 85. I really like the look of that lens.
Hugo, Great flower shots.
Nice Gregg. I like the silhouette of the tree.

There's something I don't understand. No offence, but what a waste of time it was for me trying to help you.
Why did you totally neglect the advice of focusing by eye or LV at first?
I kept telling you (on POTN) that I didn't believe there's anything wrong with your lens and that canons focus confirmation is totally unreliable.
You kept ignoring it, but now it's clear I was right from the start.
But I'm happy your problem is solved now. Enjoy the lens.
