I know this guy! Did you bribe the security?
Heh, no, I ran up to him from behind having checked around for security that would jump me if I moved in too fast, but he was only with an oder friend/college.
I tried as much as I could not to 'jump' him as I can appreciate that they are a little nervous what with all the stuff that has happened before.
I was in and out in less than 15 seconds (I don't want to bother people too much especially if they are kind enough to agree to have their portrait taken).
I have zeiss ze 35 1.4 that's giving me problems of focus shift and spherical aberrations...(the image is not proprely in focus always)
Have you experiences in these kind of issues?
Can i find a solution...warranty?
this think makes me crazy...i love zeiss but i can't reach the focus..,when the camera beeps, in review the fous is shifted
Thanks

This is the link it may help. You need first isolate the problem if it is the lens or the body. I don't notice Focus shift from my use for this lens, but I never did scientific test on it. For my general use, it doesn't bother me.

I have not experienced focus shift. I'm sure there are some (most ultra fast lenses has it), but it's not pronounced like in the 1.4/85.
At what focus distance do you use and experience this?

I've seen many pictures of other people really sharp at full aperture..this means this zeiss would be very sharp. not my copy.
Is your viewfinder diopter properly calibrated to your vision? At f/1.4, you have to nail focus.
I have only had very positive results with my 35/1.4 except for first day shooting. I re-calibrated the diopter when I was tired/lazy and was off, and so was the focus. Re-adjusted it the next day and have hit every shot since.
Really bowled over by the vidid colors in shots from the last couple of pages. It really helps to wipe away the pale wintery palette outside.
I am now a Northern California resident. (Yay!) So I am indeed still in the area. I have only been out here about three weeks, so I am in the infancy of getting to explore. However, I have had the common sense to eat twice at Mama _____ (now I forget the name) Italian restaurant in Santa Cruz. Atmosphere is almost like a diner, but the Salsiccia and the tiramisu are incredible.

Well, what can one say other than smashing quality. Surely the models plays a big part in it as well. What is the lighting going on here? Yours or just the way it was?

The lighting was just the way it was! I had no control over the lighting.

Good morning Jim,
The restaurant is called Mama Lucia's , and the owner Lucio is a fantastic cook!! Welcome to SC! Along with Mama Lucia's, there are some really fantastic Italian restaurants here. The weather has been very favorable lately, too!!

This thread is moving so fast. Some great shots again the last few pages!
(I also said this on POTN)
What Auriga describes is not focus shift (shooting a lens wide open simply does not cause focus shift), but an unreliable AF confirmation. You can micro adjust it, but it will still be less precise than focusing by eye (when your viewfinder is correctly calibrated) or liveview.
I never focus my zeiss lenses that way. Do the test: when the green light blinks... turn the focus ring a tiny bit further. It wil still blink. Unreliable.

Definitely, I was assuming he didn't mean wide open. And yes, this thread moves fast, but now it's been 16h since the last post so here goes (I'm starting to lose track over which photos I've posted)

On that other forum he posted photos at f1.4 as an example.
Nice shots. You always seem to be fearless on the streets, shoving your camera in people's faces (I like that more than street photography with tele lenses). Do you ever get comments about it?
