A litle about ZM 35-C biogon, I share the same experience with you. I find it very hard to nail focus via the LCD of the 5N. My ZM 50 Planar is considerably easier and so is the 100 MP. I really dont know the cause and whether the dedicated EVF will solve the problem or not.
Jochenb, great shot..where is that?
Dmitri, nice series indeed. it seems the 35 1.4 has an elegant way of rendering things.
That's great Luka. I like the composition with the statue of liberty in the background.
Love your street shot Morrie.
Very nice Jim. Love the lines and colors.
ZF.2 35/1.4 Morrie's shot reminded me of this shot from few days ago. Typical NYC street scenery of pre christmas season. I always get mixed feeling with the 'scene'. ( Should have cropped out the figure on the right )
Thank you for kind words, Luka. No time to shoot anything, just to process some old stuff... The scene you liked is from central Spain, somewhere in Estremadura province, if I remember correctly. Was a super tiny village in the middle of nowhere basically
Regarding CA, I really am not the right person. I noticed occasional CA at high contrast edges but not to the level that drove me crazy. Also, I tend to see them on the photos that are not good at all to begin with, so CA was not the problem. Granted I am an easy customer on CA end, still, my copy of Nikkor 50 1.4D can drive me nuts sometimes. Not so with Distagon so far.

Anyone know is there is any point in microadjusting a ZE lens, to make the focus indicator on a 5D II light up when you are exactly on target?
You could try and report the outcome. I have seen people try to shim their focusing screens so that it is accurate.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question. Do you perhaps mean how to adjust the focusing screen in the camera? I have no idea how to go about adjusting the lens.
I am using a 5D. When i got the zeiss 35 f/2 I also bought a new focusing screen. It took a bit of messing around to get the screen to sit correctly but it wasn't terribly bad. I have never had any issues with the focus indicator light malfunctioning. If you've stopped down too far it will not focus and if you're not spot on it will not focus either. It takes a little getting used to but once you're used it --no problems.
