Thanks, Jim!
Regarding the cropping: it's just a normal PS cropping to a 32x12 format. I crop most of my (private) photos routinely to this format and try to take this format into account when I shot the photos. I created a whole homepage (see below) around this format. It originated in an attempt to select background pictures for my desktop on a dual monitor (3200x1200 pixel) setup.

Thorsten, what did you use to shim the focus screen?
I ordered the official parts from Nikon service (I'm using a D700). Since I didn't know which one I would need, I ordered one of each. There are 4 different ones, with different thickness. I tried them out, until I found one where manual focus was perfect. Not sure how it works with Canon, but I guess they would have similar parts.

Does this adjustment affect the autofocus accuracy on the Nikon autofocus lenses?

Not at all, the light path for AF and MF are completely different. You could take the manual focus screen and prism out altogether or paint them black, and AF would not be affected.
Ulff - Great bird's eye view shot. Crop is very effective
Nick - nice portrait
Jim - Love the tone of #2 and #4
Xtobolic - I like the b/w on the portrait. Very crisp
Manoj - Beautiful fall color series from Blue Ridge. #1,2,3 are my fav #3 feels like a painting. wonderful
francesco - Beautiful ! It is simple and yet the shot tells a lot. Really well composed. Phone booths standing unused, with a man on a cell phone. love it. Oh, by the way, thanks for the information on the Berlin shot. Eisenman, of course, that was what I meant, but that was not the name that came out. wires crossed in my brain.
