Thanks Visca and Akul! Visca, the third shot is my fave; the cloud in the first shot looks a bit odd but impressive stitching of night scape.
Akul, regarding the back focus issue on the 21mm, I did not use the focus confirmation dot to determine the focus in my test. I have carefully tested it by using the viewfinder and my eyes to make sure that the focus is dead on. After I take the shot, the focus on the image is behind where I focused. I was thinking it might have been an error on my part, but after extensively testing it indoor and outdoor, I was able to confirm that it was off. For example, when I was shooting at 2.8 of trees in front of me, the foreground tree was blurry while the tree behind it was sharp. I did not have this issue with the 100 ZF.2.

I think what Akul is saying is that if you have the issue you describe either one of two things is wrong. The lens may have a degree of focus shift as it stops down. This is generally a result of the lens design and the ZF21 is not known for this issue. Alternately, there is an inaccuracy in the camera's viewfinder. This may be more apparent with certain lenses and isn't particularly uncommon Using LiveView eliminates this issue.
SInce you have the issue with the lens wide open the second would seem to be the issue. ie Your lens is probably fine, but your camera is suspect.
I used to get perfect focus with my D3 and the 100/2, but at some point I started getting the kind of focus problems described here, and I can now confirm that it happens with all my lenses when I manual focus. I am not sure what happened, but I imagine that something in the focus path shifted, and I need to send it to Nikon to have it adjusted.
Im not 100% sure, but I think its possible, that image looks through OVF sharp, but in reality isnt. Old Olympus E-300 was particulary "famous" for this issue (probably due bit strange OVF design).
I think carstenw is right, and theres some shift in focus path. Sensor isnt in OVF, but somewhere else, so it must be calibrated to match what you see in OVF. Shouldnt be an issue with LiveView as you focus where sensor is. Maybe mirror moves/shifts after some time?

I see what you're saying. I will try using LiveView later when I get home. Thanks for pointing it out.

Lars #1 is very nice, great timing with the sun.I think i would be tempted to shoot that very same shot with a longer focal length maybe 85 / 100mm to remove the left half of the frame.

Thanks for your comments! And really great images on the last page! From the many-picture-posts my favorites are:
fracas first image (although on my screen it is a little dark,
dbehrens second image,
Peters second image (what happened to the bokeh?)
Smridevans last image,
TriTrans second image,
ViscaB's first image (amazing!),
Skumars third image
and Lars' first image (the second is also great, but the bokeh is a little weird).
