Ulff, I was told the net protects against flying elephants. When I objected that there were no flying elephants, my guide said that this demonstrated the efficacy of the net...
Gorgeos images from Istanbul Philippe. 35 - 50 - 85, all 1.4 combination. 2 of which, tends to be less praised. I see your photos, and once again, it reminds me, and proves to me those lenses are really fabulous lenses. My favs - #1, #2 of both series from 35. #3 from second series from 50, and the #4 from first series from 85. That 85 shot is just fantastic. What a great shot. I feel I am there.
taz_k - very pretty flower shots, but the last shot is really nice.
Makten - I was beginning to think you might have sold your D700 . Great to see your work again. What an amazing color. Great perspective.

Philippe - Glad you jumped in as I don't know what I was talking about. Istanbul trip sounds great. Lookinig forward to see shots from there.
dbehrens- My jaw dropped looking at them. You shot them with 21 !!!! Did you set up with remote and wait ? Absolutely amazing.
Ulan - Welcome to the thread. From the pictures you posted, I think your lens is pretty sharp. I like your fish shot and the last one. Love your last shot.
Thanks akul, Peire and splathop for your kind words. There is an observation booth in the middle of the colony that has birds all around it. Usually I have it to myself because of the zillions of bugs and smell - but its a small cost to pay and does allow you to take in your face pics with a 21mm! And since a pic is worth a thousand words - here is one of me in the booth,

Makten: Nice to see you in this thread again. Good that you took your D700 for a walk!
Thanks, it's nice to be back! I won't sell the D700 before there's an affordable, smaller alternative that can deal with the swedish autumn and winter darkness (the X100 can't because of the terrible AF). It's still bright and nice until 7 p.m. or so, but film is soon out of the question for anything but daytime. I have barely touched the D700 for the whole summer and it's quite nice to grab it for an evening walk now and then.
Week 5 on this thread and still just up to page 272. Still amazed by all the outstanding photographs and wonderful conversations taking place. To all above this post ... thanks for sharing. I'm running out of adjectives so ... Wow! That's all I got tonight.
Here's a new series I'm playing around with entitled "Artist Series". Not sure where it will take me? Have a great weekend!
