cheers eardrumbuzz! It's all your fault that I hastily bought a used 28 yesterday.
I was actually waiting for a used 21 for quite a while, but people seem not to sell them at all any more. Then this 28 popped up and waved at me with a rediculously cheap prize. It will arrive just in time to take it with me on a holiday trip to Greece.
But I won't have much time to try it out first, which is not a good thing. I know it is good at close range, but you need to watch the field curvature with flat objects. Seemed not a problem with your very nice rock shots though.
In your experience: how is it at infinity? How much does it need to be stopped down to get edge to edge sharpness? Anything else I should watch? The question also goes to other owners or ex-owners of the 28. Thanks.
cyra - I thnk it is pretty good (excellent...) across the range of focus. Best wide prime I have owned, but then I used to use my 17-40L or Tamron 28-75 and this beats them easily. Colours are great. Just took the pictures of the sparkling rose whilst sitting in the sun at home...
Bought mine used too when I was looking for a 50/2 ZE because it was a good price...stays on camera now!
Phil - lovely B&W conversions, and camels too
Jim - you seem to be enjoying your 100MP, and producing some nice images.
Robert - very nice tower shot
Abram - The temple is stunning, enjoying your Hawaii images
Gary - you're killing it with the 21
