Thanks cyra and SKumar25
I think why the City shot has a cooler tone is that it was shot just before sunrise.
cyra I prefer number 3 and 5 in your series.

The Leica is definitely sharper, of course its stopped down 2 stops more.But the bokeh on the Leica is crap, now the bokeh on the Zeiss is pretty sweet.Why not stop the Zeiss down to f4 to compare sharpness.I am not sure why you posted such a 'comparison'
-Jim
Jim, the Leica is wide open and was comparing wide open performance (actually stopped the 1.4/35 a little). As I mentioned earlier, just a silly comparison. When I opened the RAW files, I was just struck by how sharp that Leica image was.. Honestly, nothing more. Ohh, that Leica is a diffraction limited lens
FlyPenFly, Philippe, prosep, Gunzorro, Cyra - Thank you
alkanphel - Nice color and bokeh with the fern shot.
Gunzorro - Large size really gave me the feeling of being encapsulated to your scene. Very effective for the shot.
Dalmas - Ray of light is very pretty. Building on the water is very crisp, clean, and clear.
taz_k - Beautiful shots. They all showcase the strength of 35/1.4 Transition from focused to out on the first shot is very yummy. Great texture and color too.
Cyra - #1 of the first set - great composition. Bokeh on the second is quite pretty. LOVE the bench on fence shot. Another great composition with the traffic sign. 'Bench with a view' is bitingly sharp. Great shot.
Ajay C - WOW what a view. Amazing shot. Great use of 100MP ! Have you posted more shots from Denali park ? If so, my apology for getting blurry with my memory, but I'd love to see more !! Second shot is brilliant.
@akul: very nice capture of the midnight colours. Great moment with the moon between the clouds.
@Dalmas: absolutely stunning church pics.
@alkanphel: Nice 3D pop with this one and nice shades of green.
@taz_k: first shot is my favorite. Those colours just pop into my eyes, great sharpness also.
@cyra: #2 nice bokeh, very smooth. #4 and #5 looks like a tropical island with that water colour.
@Ajay C: #1 excellent transition from foreground to background. #2 has some great 3D pop
@alkanphel: nice finding, great contrast.
@NCAndy: beautiful sky.
My entry is a panorama of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany, near the Austrian border). It's stitched out of 109 images taken with the MP 100/2.
Cyra: Thanks! I agree that the yellow flowers sholdn't cover the
ridge but don't think the steal to much attention. Will think about
it... :-)
Good capture of the nice strong colours of the lake. Where is that?
@SKumar25: Thanks! I'm struggling with the getting the "3D pop" but
may have succeeded in the first shot. Still getting used to Zeiss...
AjayC: That's a pretty impressive landscape! Second one is fun :-)
Akul: Thanks! I love the 35/1.4, even more than my 100MP. I think it's clarity of the images it produces and the bokeh.
Jim Schemel: Great light in all three images, especially the last one.
... now off to Lofoten, Norway and 9 days of hiking and photography!

U.C.: 109!?! Your crazy. The results absolutely speak for itself.
With 100mm and such a wide view (almost 180 degrees), I didn't had another option left. But thanks for your compliment!
thanks skumar25 and Dalmas, akul , U.C. and taz-K, for comments - Fuschlsee not quite a tropical lake but still, "wenn ich den See seh, brauch ich kein Meer mehr" sorry, not quite translateable U.C. your Garmisch panorama is impressive!
taz, I envy you for that Lofoten trip... hoping for nice pictures!
NCAndy, I love the colours and mood of those light rays, but what is BRP?
Jim, your third shot shows why I love the 35/2 - they way it renders colours and structure is so nice!
JochenB: good to see some wide open shots from the 35/1.4. #2: really sweet bokeh, also like #5 a lot. keep them coming :-)
here are 3 shots with the ZF [email protected] which shows it's strength at mid distance, the last one works since it is dull light, I had bad results that close with brigther light. At 1.4 the 85 seems to blow highlights easily.
Jochenb -- Nice beginning for the 35/1.4. I was using my ZE 35/2 today, and I could really see how the 1.4 would be easier to focus with its thin DOF. Congrats on your purchase.
Wow... Jim, Jochen, Dalmas, and everyone else who has posted these last couple pages... just WOW. Well done.
Fartin' around the backyard tonight and got a couple typical flower shots, but the spider shot here floored me. I didn't check the image on playback for whatever reason, and have no idea what caused the rainbow effect except it was backlit by sunlit and a web spun between two metal posts on our deck. Very strange, but liked the effect anyway...
Zeiss 100/f2 Makro-Planar on D700 for these:
Stellar work everyone, please keep them coming. Hate seeing this thread drop off the top half the first page!
Like dj dunzie, I was working with the Zeiss 100/f2 Makro-Planar on D700. This is a new lens for me and I am getting to know it. Both were at f/2. The depth of field surely is shallow... I should have stopped down a little more, I think.
