ViscaB, congratulations on such a brilliant composite of Hong Kong.
Just spent 10 minutes cruising through the full-size version of the image.
The 50 never let you down and you could never let this thread down with
a post such as this one.
Curious for some technical data on the project; were you able to use a
uniform exposure across all images? One can see in places it's a longish
shutter-speed.
It was taken from an observation deck. I did not want to bring too much gear so did not bring a panohead and used my regular manfrotto ballhead which can be rotated. I manually estimated the required overlap. Using liveview that's a breeze. I did use a Manfrotto leveller as well underneath the ballhead.
I used a 30 sec exposure at 5.6. A very long exposure was needed because of the tinted glass. I used one shutter speed for all. I also recorded the highlights. But it just takes too much time to blend them in for a pano.
I love panoramas generally but that one is impressive! And I hear what you are saying about how long it takes, my poor little macbook can take overnight to stitch some of my 25 shot panoramas! Unfortunately I only just got my Zeiss so can't post it here (was from a 200 2.8 L)
