Another breathtaking shot, Ulff.
From my side, I am just about ready to call the ZE35 f:1.4 my favorite lens, ahead of even the mighty ZE21. That is how happy I am with it.
From my short session with the lens it shoots as easy as the 21 as well. I can certainly see why you feel that way.

nickson and Ulff great photos, i should resist about 100ZF, must resist...
Thank you! Resistance against 2/100 is a tough one, better prepare in advance for an unfavorable outcome (though it's hard to say which outcome is really favorable - what's good for photography is generally bad for your wallet )

That's good news, initially a few users found it difficult to focus. Have you used it wide open?
I would really like to buy it and test it for myself, but hesitate because I would have to finance it by selling at least two other lenses. And the ZE 35 2.0 would be the first candidate (I have the 35L, too, and need it for AF-critical work), even although I like it very much. And its phenomenal rendering at f2.0 can't be simulated by neither the 35L nor the new 35 1.4 ZE, at least from what I've seen so far...
Ulff - I have the 35/2 which I do like a lot. I only shot with the 35/1.4 for a few frames and honestly, I missed proper focus on a few when shooting wide open. But what I saw was impressive. Philber is a much better authority on this lens than I. I used to own the 35L and while it's a very good lens, it doesn't have near the contrast of the Zeiss. I sold it rather quickly for the 35/2. I might move to the 1.4 eventually.

I do like all wide open shots with this lens I've seen so far on the net, too. I don't know if Philippe is an export of wide open focusing and performance of this lens, because he seems to like photos with more DOF.
What I haven't seen are direct comparisons to the 35 2.0 at f2.0. And the 35 2.0 is so easy to manual focus, its in the same league as the 21 2.8 and the 28 2.8, which are the three best MF-lenses from all I tried in the digital age. I'm looking forward to your impressions if you actually make the move to the 1.4...

Here's a shot with 2/35 ZF.2 - in part to showcase the amazing wide open rendering Ulff is referring to. I can't imagine selling this lens ever...
Yeah, that's actually what I'm referring to, nickson, an amazing rendering! And even the bokeh can be artistic in close ups:
bpark, I enjoyed your reformatory series
johnahill, the 25 is very contrasty, nice shot
Peter Glaso: two captivating shots!
ullf, I like your tree shots
taz: so you are the first one to test out the 35/1,4 ZF? 3rd is my favourite
philber: cool musician, but who are all those people on that tourist shot -ah, there is sunglasses guy again...
hugo: looking at your (always very good) pictures always makes me wonder wheter your camera is set to "vivid" or you do it all in pp.
AhamB: for me LR doesn't clean up the bokeh CA (it just adds some somewhere else), but the adjustment brush or desaturation is a good idea, I will try this.
Karel, I like your alley shot and the fence shot
Bob: perfect photos as allways - the third shot seems to have some cyan CA in the background?
here come a couple shots of rusty stuff all Zf 100
Let me ask something, Zeiss ZF.2 50mm f/1.4 is really worth the price? I had Nikon AFS 50mm f/1.4G and AIS 50mm f/1.2, I think the manual focus with Zeiss is more easy..
Thank you Philippe, this is the info I'm looking for! And the last picture is also nicely sharp and contrasty for being f1.4... Do you find any difference in focus accuracy at f2.0 if you compare the new 35mm to your old 35 2.0?
rwcs: fantastic image - a promising beginning with your new 35 ZF!
John: I like the Cornwall photo a lot! Have you played with other white balance settings - I have the feeling that this might improve the photo even further...
Lovely rusty set, cyra!
Congratulations on your new lens and on the good use you put it to, rcws!
More goodness for Bob; Love your sepia-typed-shots. I need to think about doing that!
