Haha, it was the Watch Tower overlook Grand Canyon at the East Entrance.
I didn't do much hiking, but will try to come back next summer for a 2 week-trip. I plan to hike down to Havasu Falls. Will post more pictures later

The weather seems to be perfect in Amsterdam! I visited Amsterdam a few weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. Do you stay there for longer, Bob?

Here are two photos with trees in it. Combining trees with a 35 2.0 wide open is a combination I like very much:

Thanks prosep, akul and abhijeeth. Yeah I was referring to how the 100MP is so sharp!

abhijeeth: I loved the Pacific Beauty, it's very soothing and I feel like I'm almost there.
rji2goleez: Very vibrant photos from Amsterdam!
te4o: Nice shots of the river movements, I like the 2nd and 3rd ones especially.

Wow, you miss one day in this thread and you miss a volume of outstanding images.

Cyra - great job handling that MF with the BIF.
Manith - love the soft focus effect in #1... really nice color.
Akul - Beautiful scenes in your posts!!
BPark - I'm digging the setting of your "cells" shot.
Prosep - You're making that lens shine... outstanding flowers and sweet BG's!
Bob - Your church shots have amazing color depth, and your street scenes are exactly what I love about Zeiss glass... just incredible.
Uzay - if that is "nothing special"... you sure make it look pretty special. A good photographer makes "nothing special" interesting to look at and you nailed it.
Abhijeeth - like the wide landscape and great color.
Markus - your images show incredible depth... well done.

To everybody posting... this thread is simply inspirational. Keep it up!

Here is a photo of Owls Head Light in Maine - taken with a 50 1.4 - a B&W polarizer was used. I have learned that these Zeiss lenses have such great color and contrast they really don't need a polarizer. However - once in awhile !

What a great shot - and what a fantastic candidate for B&W!!

Thanks! Yes the weather has been wonderful this spring. I've been living in Utrecht, south of Amsterdam, since January. I'll be here through the end of June and then return to the states. I'm not sure I want to leave . . .

Thanks all for your comments!

Wow - thank you everyone! This is one of my fav shots and I am happy to see most of you like it too :-)

TriTran: Havasupai falls is beautiful. Go there in the spring or fall - summer will be very hot. 18 mile hike down . Me and the Mrs did a day hike down there with 50 pound backpacks each. Camped at the bottom of the canyon for 5 days. It was epic! did 4 mile hikes each day and finally took the choppper back up! A horseride or a mule ride (for your luggage only) or a chopper all used to cost $75.00. We took the chopper to ease our consciences and the horses' & mules' back as well.

Ulff: love em both: You compose very well!

bob: that last shot of Amsterdam is growing on me each time I see it!

prosep: Very nice shot. Looks like natural jewelry! beautiful! Tasteful choice in the frame as well.

Manith: Well, she doesn't seem to mind standing close to the edge at all, does she?! [edge of the cliff as well as the end of the fence!]

Lots of great stuff everyone, just a few favourites, which does not do justice to all of your work:
Ulff: sunrise over the river
Bob: Amsterdam church
Uzay: stairs & curtains
abhijeeth: 2:1 really works indeed
Tri Tran: really good! what&where is that?
te4o: 2&3
Ulff: love that pano
prosep: amazing
Bob: sunglasses :-)
Carsten, I know that feeling, getting better at photography, having better stuff, wanting to revisit wonderfull places that I've been before, yet there are so much more new places to go....too much for a lifetime...

Now, are angry ducks (or are they are supposed to be fish?) also for good luck & do they count as a statue (ZE 21 @ 2.8):

And behind the fountain (ZE 21 @ 7.1):

All in Rome, the plaza in front of the Pantheon.

Cyra, love that last one! The 50MP is really nice, is'nt it! (congrats). Wasn't it you who said that you feel at home with the 5DII and the Zeis-es? If so: I completely agree and have sold all of my Canon/Sigma, and keep just the Tamron 28-75 for convenience,

And this should be the last church from Rome (ZE 21@ f4, ISO 2500) (for Carsten: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Maria_in_Trastevere):

thanks Karel, certainly not me, since I am shooting a D 700 Nikon. But I do also feel like the search for the right lens came to an end, now it is more like which Zeiss can I resist bying. (stop showing me those 21mm pictures...)
I have not used a Nikon Zoom since I bought my third Zeiss lens. Don't even take them with me any more. Exception might be shooting people, I still feel a bit unsure, but even there it is much more challenge and fun to try with a MF lens with good rendering.

Wow, also very nice! I was there too, and have much less nice shots from there too. I need to go back and try again. I did miss the Sistine Chapel last time, so I have an excuse to go back.
