rsolti13, excellent colors, composition. Lighthouse images are really awesome.
rji2goleez, as usual, excellent details.
corposant, nice bokeh.
carstenw, like both, cropped version little more.
cputeq, love the lighting.
Wow! What an incredible thread! At 300+ pages, that's a lot to wade through! But really worth it.
Thank you to all the terrific contributors, too many to name individually, but Samuli, denoir and philber come to mind right away. And Lars, who has been a tremendous inspiration.
Here's my first entry to the club. All made with my first Zeiss lens, the 21/2.8. I'm still working on the PP and saving techniques, so I might be shuffling pictures and reworking them, depending how they look through Photobucket to here. All images processed in LR.
BTW -- The fifth photo (curved windows/walk with flowers) is cropped to about 50% of the frame. I love the 1DS2!
From another thread on PP, I got a few answers that should help my images here on the forum regarding sharpening in the Export from LR. I never had the problem with DPP or CNX2, but hey, different software -- gotta learn the new stuff.
I won't bore anyone by redo'ing the ones I posted, just apolgizing that they didn't come out as sharp as intended. Better results next time!
The 35/2 arrived about an hour ago! Special thanks to Doug on the FM Buy/Sell for a wonderful experience.
So far so good. With the limited shooting I did, this seems to be stacking up as one of my sharpest lenses. Some very impressive details in the image center. Definitely remains softer toward the edges at f/4, but much better overall at f/5.6. In fact, really great all over at f/5.6. LR does great at correcting the barrel distortion, CA, and actually over corrects the vignetting for my taste -- nice job by the Adobe profile.
Looks like a winner!

And that thermometer in lower left of the white cover shot is pointing at 100F, that's why that little dog is panting.
