OneAnt, absolutely brilliant, in each and every area of the photo. No problem that it doesn't have a story as somebody's pointed out; man's eyes say it all.
Have been watching this thread for quite a while, and finally decided to join the craze. Here are some b-w portraits with D300, 2/35 ZF.2 (I thought I could contribute to the b-w mood of OneAnt's entry).

"Every day of his life Mr. Lowell had had the feeling that he was being watched, and today was to prove no different. Sooner or later he would have to get those prescription glasses fixed so he might spot who was watching him. His optician had made a mistake and read +3 as -3, but Mr. Lowell's reticent nature had thus far prevented him from pointing this out, or getting them corrected. Recently, however, his old optician had passed away, and so he had felt that it would not be immodest to have this change done, in the guise of wanting a new pair of frames. What he did not know was that his old optician had left detailed notes on every transaction, and thus his successor greeted him with an exact recollection of the prescription used, resulting in another pair of glasses with the same problem. Pondering this state of affairs, he was able to ignore the little voice telling him he was being watched yet again."...Show more →
Good one carstenw! I saw the previous (short) version as well, and maybe that was even better :-)
Here's my shot, sry about linguistic shortcomings :o)
After their fathers funeral the three brothers met outside the church. A short argument took place where the eldest Mr.Lowell Jr. finally declared that he - being the oldest son - now had the right to single-handedly take over the company. -"I expect your offices to be cleared by Monday", he said turning his back. His two younger brothers stood silent watching him walk away.
Cover art for Radiohead's next album. Or maybe Arcade Fire.
Also, I don't think I have seen a picture quoted so many times on this thread. It's something special. As was mentioned by an earlier post, this is would be nice to have available for sale as a print. I'd love to hang it up in my home.
Ajay, nice rendering in the first one and please keep posting photos with the 35/1.4
Jochen, nice composition.
Lars, some very nice photos in the last pages.
OneAnt, superb photo.
Martynas, really nice b&w photos with the model a few pages back.
Haha, completely different take! I bet you could write a thousand different (very) short stories based on this photo, there is so much to wonder about.
