Brilliant set, as ever, Luka! I can see how the pics are different from those a 5DII might have produced. To my eye, the blues, for example, are quite different. But I have yet to say whether I like them more of less, as I see nothing the 5DII could not have produced as well, albeit differently, in the same (your) hands. Just my $0.02

Thanks Philippe!
Well, I've only had it since Monday so I don't want to make too definitive statements but:
M9 resolution is significantly higher (not visible in web sized shots)
5DII RAW files need less tweaking to get the colors and exposure that I want
M9 RAWs have much more latitude in the shadows but less in the highlights
High ISO is much better on the 5DII
Accurate focusing with wide angles is much easier with the M9
ZM lenses are somewhat inferior to ZE lenses
Framing using framelines is very inaccurate. They are calibrated at 1 meter.
The 5DII has a tendency to blow out reds while the M9 has the same problem with green/yellow
The M9 is not very small but the lenses are tiny
MFD with the M9 is poor (limited at 0.7m)
People react less to it than to a large DSLR
Using non-leica glass is a pain in the @¤#! as you have to go into a menu and select the closest Leica glass each time you change the lens.
And last but not least I've had girls approach me commenting my "pretty"/"cute" camera.
The bottom line is that the 5DII is far more versatile while the M9 is far more convenient. It feels very good to use and the tiny lenses make it extremely portable. With the 5DII the 21 and 100 MP are my favorite lenses and I don't have anything like them for the M9 - I have the 25/2.8, 35/2 and 50/1.5 - all in the 'middle' so to speak. No ultra wides and no tele. I miss that.
Denoir, unless those guys with the guitar sits there often I must have passed right by you (27/9) and as a matter of fact I saw a guy with a Leica hanging by a strap around his neck exactly when I went past the players and seriously contemplated asking him if I could have a look at the camera, but didn't. did you wear a black coat?
I took this about the same time inside of Centralen Station (D700 - Zeiss 2/35 ZF)
Rödluvan, yes, I had a black coat so it was probably me. I mean how many people could have there been taking pictures of those two with a Leica? Small world.
Amazingly small world (almost uncanny in this case)! Funny thing is a I stalked you for a little while trying to work up the nerves to ask for a photo (I like taking street portraits, as can be seen above) until you went trough the subway gates (If I recall correctly).
lol thanks man .. youre going to want all the ZE's if you keep looking at this thread with all the amazing photos that others are posting
I actually just bought a ZF25/2.8 for a really good price (about half the street price). Not my most coveted Zeiss, but it will probably replace my Contax 28/2.8.
I've seen pretty much all the pages of this thread, so yes, I want all ZE's.
akul: Love the mystery in the second image. Leaves me wondering what is going on in that garage.
Denoir: That second shot is cool. Almost looks like a can of sardines (crap, just read Diploneis reply). Wish we had beautiful scenery like that in Toronto.
Philber, Dimitri ( sort of assuming it was directed to me ), Denoir, MJ - Thanks much for your comment.
MJ, believe it or not, that is not a parking garage, it is a 'street'.
Denoir - Beautiful..... I love all of them. I don't have the eyes of Philber's so I can't quite tell the difference of image characteristics from Biogons to Z series. I however, of course noticed the new subjects and shooting style. Woman with hat with OOF background shot is really growing on me. Must say, that is definitely Denoir blue, but subject and composition, is new ( seems to me). Melancholic. Boat shot with perfect reflection, and the last shots both blows me away in toal Denoir way. And of course, I love the garbage bin shot. Great lighting, and wet pavement and leaves makes the shot shine !
Diploneis - Beautiful shot. What a landscape you have there !!
Rodluvan - Nice portrait. Must be already quite cold at where you are.
It is good to know that the ZM 35 f:2.0 is inferior to the f:2.8, it self inferior to the ZE/F. Otherwise that tree shot might just have fooled me into thinking it was crazy unbelievably believable...
Love your cow shot, dj!
