Yeah, I actually prefer the 50MP over the 50L, but honestly sometimes shooting at 1.2 and getting images half in focus is better then shooting at f/2 and having camera shake...
In the end I sold the 50L, but I wouldn't sell the 50MP.... So I guess I just have to refrain from shooting at night, or I have to pray that by the time the 5DIII comes out, canon has made a 3200 ISO that looks like 400 ISO on the 5DII wishful thinking, so yeah I just won't shoot at night much without a tripod.
Anyway Charles, thanks for sharing your shots, and it's neat to note your AF/MF opinions have been the same as mine with the two lenses.

Thanks, Adam. I'm glad you shoot the way you want to. So do I. It's all OK. We may approach the same subject differently. Both are valid. It's OK to express out thoughts on the other approaches. Why are we posting here, then? Unfortunately, some people feel the need to slam others for having a thought that's not like theirs. Fortunately, that's a minority here.
Good luck with your vegetables. Try some tofu, it may be easier to digest....
I love tofu, I can eat it. I also like beancurd skin, the fried type's tasty.
It's more the green veggies that hate me.
I'll bring my tripod next time I go to the zoo, even though I hate lugging it around.
I'm seriously the type that'll walk in the rain, because I hate carrying an umbrella with me.
Maybe the ZE 50 f1.4! Marginally slower than 50L, but better MF for low light shots, than the 50L, and lighter!
The 5DII is extroadinary camera combined with the ZE lenses. For size to weight ratio, it is hard to beat. Yes the D3 and D700 are great too, but it is just becoming too much to carry around.
There are many are waiting for the 5D III, but there may not be any option for changing the focusing screens as with the 7D.
I personally think the more photographers discover the combo of ZE with 5DII, this combination will be here for awhile catering for this style of photography.
Charles, you raise an interesting point about the possiblity of a non-changeable focusing screen on the 5DII's successor. I wonder how easy it is to focus ZE lenses on the 7D. Have you heard any reports?
I have the 7D with L series lenses. I use them more for action shots on horses. I have tried the ZE on the 7D. It works, but not as easy as the 5DII with Eg-S screen.
Basically 2 different systems.
Charles, I notices you're from Australia. Where did you buy your ZE's from? I checked out a shop in Sydney (Foto Riesel), the prices were significantly more than B+H.
Great shots Andrew. Love your unique style. I really like the first shot, as it is very different composition.
SKumar25.... Just bought them online from Amazon, Adorama. It only takes 2 to 3 day delivery. In Australia, some stores have them, some don't and they have to order. The price is good, and a great tracking system for the orders in progress.

Andrew
Bloody marvelous!!
Snowboarder, please can you post unprocessed versions of these photos if you get a chance. I'd love to see how much of the final look is due to post processing versus raw output from the lens.
Also what basic post processing steps are you doing?
No. 2 has a rich quality to it, verdant and moody, yet without looking over-saturated or painterly. The word "gorgeous" comes to mind. That lane with the simple fence following it fits. The criss-crossing of yellow performs a blanketing effect that soothes the senses. This image beckons the viewer to gaze it, to absorb its visual poetry in the play of color.
Jeffrey: Excellent shots! Killer combo IIIs with ZE 35 and an artistic eye.
Ajay C: Great shots, love that ZE 100 :o)
Philber: Interesting shots. Love the 3D effect :o)
Rick Perry: Good shots. Thanks for sharing.
