anyone here got Milvus 1.4/35 sample images?
Was thinking the same thing. Really want to see how Velvia slide film responds to it (that'll be my own testing). The Milvus 50/1.4 is great with Velvia. More interested in the Milvus 35 than the D850 at the moment.
Was in the mood for a little abstract... Noticed this old tree that has lived a very long life, weathered all the storms, and has earned every bit of character that it has. Taken with my Nikon Df/Zeiss Distagon 28f2 combo.
Was able to attend my first ever Hot Air Balloon Rally. It was quite a fun evening with all the colorful balloons and seeing them glow at night. A great family event! Taken with the Nikon Df/Zeiss Distagon 21 ZF.2
I used most of the Milvus lenses but I wanted a lighter camera kit so I can bring it along even when I'm not working. I miss a lot of candid opportunities when my camera is not with me. So I read reviews on the Zeiss Planar 50mm F1.4 ZF.2, and most said it was soft wide open and CA is everywhere but by F2.8 it's a sharp as any modern lens. I decided to buy it and it converted nicely to the Leitax Sony A-mount mount and LA-EA3, which goes onto my a6300. (I have a a99II and want all my lenses to work with any Sony body.)
This lens is something special. Even the Milvus 50mm F1.4 (which I nicknamed the paintbrush), doesn't have have the colors and 3D pop of the Classic Planar. I fell in love again. This was the Zeiss look I've been missing since I sold my Sony Zeiss 55mm F1.8. The below image is about 95% out of camera, LR adds some sharpening on import. But most of my images where amazing as shot.
This combo makes me want to shoot more and more. I'm done with the Milvus line....too heavy and the F1.4 lenses lack the classic Zeiss look (flat rendering).

A7 + 2/100 combo you have which adapter you're using? I am planning to buy an A7 body but not sure which adapters to buy I am currently leaning towards the novoflex or the Sigma adapters... do you have experience on these?
I use novoflex it's a nice adapter... pretty expensive but great built and works great ( have it in Nikon and Contax mount for Sony E )
I have no experience with sigma

Ronny one more question... the novoflex you have how does the mount feel when you put in your Zeiss lenses? is it too tight? or normal just like when you mount on a camera native mount. I asked because I read somewhere in BH review one user complained it's too tight that it's scratching the len's mount.
I'm planning to have my Zeiss ZE lenses mounted on A7. tnx.
by the way 19 days to go to Iceland? which zeiss you bringing? I like the capture you had way back I think it's the 21 distagon the river with nice blue flowing water it's like a mini or micro falls.
Mine is tight but not too tight and not scratching the len's mount ---solid building quality
The only Zeiss ZF that I have right now is Zeiss 100MP the rest is sold for Loxia 21 and 50
I also have
Contax 100-300
Sony Zeiss 16-35 f4 FE
Sony 85 F1.8 FE
Nikkor fisheye 16mm 3.5 Ai
I bring all of Iceland except sony 85 ..I think
Body
A7R II and A7II
Is not the price decisive I suggest you to buy the new A7II instead of the A7
equivalent performance... but feel more solid in building quality and IBIS and stronger lens mount are some of the advantages

If you have Zeiss ZE lenses, which is the Canon mount versions, you need either the Sigma MC-11 adapter or Metabones V adapter. This in order to be able to control the electromagnetic diaphragm on the Zeiss ZE lenses. If you have Zeiss ZF or ZF.2 lenses, i.e. the Nikon mount version a mechanical adapter will do, since the diaphragm can then be controlled viavthe aperture ring.
If I'm not mistaken the Metabones adapter has a tripod mount, which the Sigma MC-11 hasn't got.
