A January 25th update from Dave's friend billym, posted at birdphotographers.net --
Dave is still with us, I visited him at 10am this morning. He seemed to be breathing a little harder than yesterday and his blood pressure was a little lower at times (96/43). It was hard to see my friend this morning in this condition but I know God is with him and will take care of him. His friends at Fred Miranda posted this link and I thought you might like to read it. http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAbou...ips/index_html
Gutted to hear about Dave's condition, I remember well the mag cover, the chad bag shoots etc. and the banter from when he was a regular and of course his helpful advice and stunning greenies.
Goodmorning Dave. Chad sent me a link to your paintings and I was completely inspired again to open corel and start painting again. I started to paint one of Chad's fox kits that he took in Wyoming last year. I will post it when I am finished.
Good morning Dave. Speaking of the Chad Bag, those days were indeed funny but none of those guys had you beat shooting with a 2x, manual focus from the "car blind". We need some fresh ones from you
Good Morning Dave-I miss your comments, humor & exqusite talents!!! Hurry back & refill the void left in your absence. Your the best & I look forward to hearing from you again!!!!
Good Morning, Dave. I just want you to know that I got everything ready and organized for our trip to Dauphin Island. So get better soon and let me know.
