I haven't posted much lately because I simply haven't been shooting much so I went out to the Wakodahatchee Wetlands this morning to see how the wildlife was coping with the severe Florida freeze...Well, it turns out the birds seem to be handling the cold just fine...However, my right (shutter-button) hand is still feeling the effects of three hours in freezing temps with a 20 mph wind (just call me claw-hand ) Here's 12 from this morning...nothing special (especially considering the overcast skies) but at least I'm out shooting again
It's nice to see you out shooting and posting again Omar Great set and a nice variety. It's hard to believe your herons are in breeding plumage and nesting already, it's winter for most of us I love the position of the fish in the last shot, couldn't be better.

To be honest, I never saw the fish until I was reviewing the images at home...sometimes it's good to be lucky.

Nice series Omar. The catfish the gbh has in your last shot looks like a tropical "import".
Ron
The wetlands are actually artificially created and part pf the Palm Beach County water utilities so the catfish was propably purposesly 'imported' to support this 'artificial' ecosystem.

Great set of images. Is that a wood stork on the right of the raccoon shot?
Lyndon
I'm not sure...there were lots of those birds but they didn't seem like wood storks to me...unless they were huddling low due to the unseasonably cold weather. I'll post an image later for a more positive ID.

ahh familiar sights, I always take a stroll through here when I'm visiting my grandma in Delray. Hopefully I'll get back in March
Definately a must see if you're in the area.

Thanks for sharing Omar! Good to see you back man
Thanks Conrad, this was the first real test I've been able to give the 7D since I got it. I still need to fine-tune some of the AF CF & settings but so far it's looking great!
Thanks Lil...I was actually thinking about you! When I was driving back, I needed to stop off at the store for a quick second but after that 'experience' you had recently, I decided to go home first and unload my gear BEFORE going to the store!

Omar
Good for you.
That's how to do it.
Glad I could help everyone on the board hopefully learn to think a little more how we do things with our equipment in our cars. I certainly have.
