Is it possible that they NJ receives the repair order, but send the camera to VA to get it fixed?
I'm going to call the Canon on Monday to find out as soon as I receive the camera.
I just dropped mine off for repairs (I pulled my Mark III off the table when I forgot to disconnect the Quantum battery from the flash - The battery was on my belt. ouch!!) They reaglined whatever was out of kilter, cleaned, installed new software, replaced the mirror box and the shutter assy - all for the orig $290 quote - and it took only 3 days. I live only 30 min for the NJ repair center. Their service is the best!

I don't think that is the case. I was told VA no longer does the MK3 upgrades. My focusing issue was handled by Irvine which is the closest to me. The call to Canon get's routed to Cheasapeak, VA.

No, NJ will do the job. NN VA no longer service Mark III months ago...
