I posted a question yesterday asking you folks about SilverFast software and what you thought about it for my Epson 2450 scanner. Someone kindly responded and mentioned VueScan (www.hamrick.com) as being equal to or maybe even better than SilverFast. I want to be able to scan 6x6cm NPS negatives and Velvia chromes to make 11" x14" prints from my Epson 2200 scanner. I would appreciate any comments that you might have about each of these softwares.
I dumped Silverfast AI5.5 for VueScan and haven't looked back since. The interface is much more intuitive on VueScan and much faster. The ability to profile your scanner is also a plus. In general I am not a fan of the AI software - I am an intuitive person on a PC and it was awkward and slow and did a poor job at exposure and color.
