Here's some from a couple trips I made through West Texas and up to Colorado
Stayed at a friend's ranch and left by 6:25AM. This was the sunrise I was greeted with. Sometimes opportunity comes knocking even when you don't have the optimal gear... but I took it anyway
A few days later, 4th of July in Castle Rock, CO. A handheld D70 and 55-200 VR isn't exactly the best combination for fireworks, but I got several good shots. This was my favorite.
A trip between Abilene and Lubbock, TX through the largest turbine farm in the world. I loved the juxtaposition of cotton fields and turbine fields together
