Weren't you afraid that it was going to... prehensile you or something? Is that post the size of a telephone pole or something? I thought it was much smaller.
the post is about 6" smaller in diameter than a telephone pole. it was quite tame and happy to accept treats from passers by (the porcupine not the post).
shot on a NEX-7, all my digital cameras are currently NEXs.
The Leitax conversion proved my MMJ needed adjusting. So I had to remove the rubber grip and unscrew the 6 or so screws. When I first tried this they were all so tight I gave up as I didn't want to strip the heads. But using a better technique I was able to loosen them and adjust it. I haven't tried any landscape shots yet, but have done a few wide panning shots at Silverstone which I wouldn't have been able to do before as infinity stopped short at about 20-30 metres. I did notice it sometimes hits the mirror now but not sure if the panning was causing it (slight centrifugal force as I turn whilst panning) but this doesn't bother me. My Rokkor 58 1.2 has me used to mirror slap!
Just need to glue on my focus chips and they will be sorted, I just want the ability to record aperture in the EXIF as before.
But yes, very happy with the lens, more so now its Leitaxed and solid. Can't see myself ever selling it
How do you go about removing the rubber grip without destroying it? I am beginning to think my infinity focus is there more because of the large DOF when stopped down, rather than "perfect".
It's pretty easy, you can pull it over by picking up the edge with your fingernail. It's not glued down and is easy to slide over once you raise an edge.
Mine was visibly short of infinity, when shooting wide open it was like I was deliberate trying to isolate something mid to far distance. And stopped down landscapes never really impressed me compared to my 21 ZE but then neither did my 35 f2 ZE when I had that. Either way I'm hoping it will be a little better now and even if it's not, I have the option of shooting at infinity wide open if I ever want to
Haha, not mine, I love the classic Ferraris Sometime around the Berlinetta Boxer the shapes started being very 'generic red fast car', for my taste. Now my taste runs more to Aston Martin DB9 and such. Nice shot though. Are these still handheld? You must be getting very good at it, this is quite close.
