As far as I know -I've got the ZE version, so I can't speak from experience- those triangles only happen when the lens is stopped down. Wide open, I read somewhere else there are no triangles at all.

Personally, I am not a fan of those triangles either, but its rendering wide open is second to none, and I think we all would agree this lens was made to be shot wide.

It would be very interesting to know which apperture means the beginning of those triangle fever. Please, those lucky ones......, enlighten the fore!

^^^ Nice portrait ^^^

Leady, your hippo shot is a classical piece. To me, it has some funny, special perspective in that photo I can't pin point it. Maybe from lens rendering, maybe from stitch.
A showcase why we want Shallow DOF, No need to discuss further

Thanks:-) Depends what is a model for you:-) Every person that is being photographed is a model:-) She is not a professional model....she is a friend of mine and when we both have time, we just got for a short photo-walk.

I have some other nice images of this lady, but they are not taken with 35 f/1.4

Yeah just saw on your website. Just had a sudden pang of jealousy that this was one of those casual shots with the gf or something. And I guess with her being your friend then that statement still stands.

I wish I could get such great shots whilst casually walking with the gf or friends! When I'm out walking the camera usually creates an awkward moment, not one like yours!

Let me tell you something very-very honestly. I have several good-looking-model-type of friends...and in 99% of cases it is only viewers like these shots, I do not like them that much because I know these ladies. They are all obsessed with how good looking they are, in one way or another and their life typically reflects it very well.

So....when I do not have a great light for the landscape or I just want to go out and photograph, I take one of them with me, for a coffee and take a camera with me. But....I really prefer a different type of photography, something that is much deeper and this is my personal aspiration.

So do not be jealous. Maybe you live where there are stunning landscapes? If this is the case, I am jealous:-)

London... nothing but tourist traps. And I'm not keen on street photography (taking photos, viewing others work is still interesting). Thats why I love going up to Scotland with my Scottish GF to get away from the city!

Good to hear though. Posed model shots if done well appear to be just social snapshots, and that is what you have done really well at. I honestly thought they were not posed, always optimistic!

I love the shots nonetheless

99% of what you think is not posed on the web, is posed:-)
I would love to go to Scotland one day because of what I see here: http://1x.com/artist/JohnParminter/photos :-)

She could be (and should be) model. Ofc its about photographer, but when someone can look that natural and pose like this in front of camera, its talent..

Most of them were taken with MKII and MKIII adds nothing to the IQ compared to MKII, especially with Zeiss lenses.
