from vegas trip last month .. cant remember aperture but didnt have a tripod so it was either wide open or close to it since I had to shoot handheld (or placed on something) lol
Light_pilgrim. Thanks! I shoot with 5DII and have the precision focus screen on there to make it a little easier. With subject at a closer distance, its not too bad. You get used to it after awhile. Just farther distances wide open or close to it can be a little tough (thats where liveview comes in handy) lol
Light-Pilgrim, have you adjusted the viewfinder diopter to your vision? It is the little wheel behind/next to the viewfinder. To do this, look through the viewfinder and tap the shutter button so that the shutter speed and other information LED lights come on inside the viewfinder. Rotate the diopter wheel until those numbers are very sharp. If you can not make the sharp, then obtain a stronger diopter from your camera maker (they are cheap). The strength that you need should be similar to your vision correction. For instance, I have a -2 diopter from Canon.
Any way, with the diopter properly calibrated, when it is in focus in the viewfinder, then it should be in focus on the sensor.
