I took the plunge and bought a C/Y MM version.

Has anyone tried to adjust the focus of the lens? Is the adjustment via the focus ring, so just unscrew some of the screws under the rubber focus band? What is the chance of adjusting it far enough to work on a D700, without hitting the mirror? I'm using Leitax conversion C/Y to M42, then M42-Nikon adapter.

I guess it will be hard to beat :-) but let's see when Rollei does this:

D700 + 35/1.4 ZF.2

BTW: I've bought a new monitor (Dell U2711) and all of a sudden I'm not sure about how my images are displayed on the web. Does the second image look oversaturated? It does when I use Opera but when viewing with Firefox it even looks a tad washed out (which is the same as in Photoshop).

on my imac the colors are fine

however, please post more from the ZF.2 !

... when i decided for the distagon, i decided for the HFT - i think it has a bit less contrast, but i love the rendering ...

best, L.

taz, the image looks perfect, very saturated but not oversaturated. Very nice by the way!

taz, Opera adds some saturation and does a 'pretty good' job for a lot of images. It's not colour managed, or was not when I stopped using it last year. Firefox and better still Safari, are the industry leaders in colour accuracy among browsers.

I am viewing on a CM'd NEC and your colours go nowhere near the gamut wall. This being FM Alt, you could amp up the high tone first image quite a bit, and no one would notice!

Thanks helping me understand if it was my screen that was completely uncalibrated or just the web browser behaving strangly, I think I will stick with Firefox.

I've had issues in the past with the .icc file not loading and with my old screen it was very obvious, with the new screen the difference is actually quite small.

@philip_pj: I will have a look at the first one again!

@LeadyGonzales: The rendering is very nice, I used to follow this thread even before the ZF.2 was available and was always impressed with the 3D that the older version produced.

In your flower picture I especially like the tones of blue, green and yellow and also how the out of focus flowers are rendered. Beautiful!

They are taken at almost the same spot (Alnarpsparken utanför Malmö) within the same hour. Maybe that counts...

Do it. I can´t really tell the difference between my shots with the HFT I started with (now Luka´s) and the MMG I shoot with now. The bokeh is obvious but the rest...

Anden: It's been a while!.. Thank you for the tip! There shouldn't be any optical difference, but the triangular bokeh is enticing..

I am a father and and hard working. It is a struggle to find time for these two occupations so photography has been put a side a little...

The triangular bokeh is a blessing and a curse. Not a necessity IMO.
I would love to have both the Rollei and the Contax...
