mMontag - The matsuiyastore pictures of the lense make me want to clean my cameras! I get the lense was barely used judging by how clean the mount is. I have a friend loaning me his fotodiox pro, so I will give a go at that. Is it possible to put a optix v5 onto an adapter that doesnt have it to begin with? I really wanted a 3-blade Rollei, but those are nearly impossible to come by, plus the two on have pretty steep asking prices (prototypes should be cheaper right?/? haha)
steveu - Just be patient with ebay, I have been watching for the last 3 weeks or so. The good clean copies hover around the 1100~1200 mark if you are willing. I also believe that since there is significant difference between this version and the one that will come out that the prices will hold in case you would like to sell later on. Furthermore the price increases on the ze/zf 35 f/2 makes that around 1000 so I believe that 1200 is a pretty good deal. ...Show more →
My CZ 35/1.4 came with a fotodiox pro adapter which was too thick and didn't allow infinity focus. I then got an adapter from HappyPageHK which works great but he hasn't been selling adapters for awhile now.
Zeiss 35mmf2 is a great lens along with Nikons new 35f1.4g, both with different characteristics and interpretation to images. I am hoping the new Zeiss 35mm1.4 matches its expectations. Its a good time for anyone who enjoys the 35mm focal length.
if you have to pick one between Nikon 35G and ZF 2/35, regardless of the cost and weight/size, which one you will pick?
Thanks.

I love the smoothness of the ziess movements and its HI-DEF rendering. That T* coating or whatever it is just excels in natural light. Everytime I mount my ZF 35f2 it always amazes me. But, Nikon just hit a grand slam with the 351.4. The new Nikon just rocks, I got more reaction from non-photography people with the 351.4. The focus is accurate with 0 adjustment and at f1.4 the images are sharp and the transition of out of focus is pleasing. Because it outo focus precisely, Nikon 35f1.4 is on top of my list. And, when time is not an important issue the zeiss comes out to play..
Michael,
Lloyd Chambers just blogged that he will have a ZE 35/1.4 to review Feb 10th.
What is interesting and bad for Nikon users potentially is that he doesn't expect to get a ZF.2 version till late March or early April. Seems like they may have prioritized the ZE version to come first.
That is the one I picked up. I hope customs doesnt hold mine up like yours! Morpheus which adapter are you going to use? I cant wait, this was my first lense purchase in 2 years.
are there many versions of the Contax 35mm f/1.4 Distagon lens? Because they have a used one for sale in the shop close to where I live for about $ 600

ooh, i'll take that. there are some slight variations, but i'm pretty sure the optics are the same in all c/y 35/1.4 lenses.

omg... $600? Shouldn't have announced that Now we'll know if how much you paid if you decide to sell it here for the actual going rate
I'm not really interested in the lens because I'm buying the Zeiss 35/1,4 ZE
But if I liked to sell it here for more than $ 1k, I think you would still buy it But why sell anything here. I get at least 50% more for everything if I sell it in Sweden
