In the category of interesting bokeh, the Rokkor wins but the 35/1.4 definitely produces nice results. The Rokkor of course doesn't play the whole "pretend to be medium format" game very well.
Really beautiful shots Piotr. I have seen those shots before on Flickr. When I was considering getting the 35/1.4 they together with Andreas' shots convinced me I had to have it.
I really like your first shot from this last series.
Beautiful colors and out-of-focus bg.
I'm starting to see some of that in the shots from the new 1.4/35 lens.
I think they haven't lost it... I might pick it up, when I'm ready to repurchase
my Zeiss set I just bought the 100MP for my Pentax, so I don't forget
the feeling Have to survive those few months somehow...
Thanks Andrew. If I'm realistic about it, I'll end up with the new 35/1.4 as well. I've never been good at resisting such temptations.
I have no idea what I'll do with three 35mm Zeiss lenses but I'll leave that problem for later.
100MP on a crop camera..ouch. I don't envy you. I've used the Makro Planars (50 & 100) on my 7D a couple of times, but I have always been a bit disappointed by the results. Still better than no Zeiss at all, I guess.
I most likely will get the 35 1.4 (ZF for me) too, it is either that or the 35 1.4 af-s next year. Or, if the rumored 39mp bodies from canikon comes, I would have to save my pennies for one of those too :P
I really hope that they manage to preserve the unique sharpness-to-blur transition and the narrow DOF at a distance of the old version. I think it's the closest one can get to a medium format look without actually having to use a medium format camera:
The following images are what convinced me to choose this lens over a Nikon 35/1.4 AI-s last year despite the price difference (and that was BEFORE everybody here went gaga for it ).
Can I just say that despite blowing my budget for about 6 months this lens was worth it
Once again these are not my images and they are COPYRIGHT their respective creators. I'm only linking them to show what inspired me.
