Rollei 35/1.4 wide open. http://s45.radikal.ru/i109/1004/88/48fabbfe11ab.jpg
I think it is slightly sharper, more contrasty and has richer colors than Contax version, but the triangular bokeh stopped down can be really disturbing sometimes.

From the images I have seen I'd have to agree about the Rollei looking a little sharper and more contrasty. I don't have a single pic where the triangular aperture is noticeable. Maybe because I mostly shoot around f/1.4, or f/5.6-11.
maybe I need to get the rollei and sell my contax! although i like to use f2 and f2.8 a fair bit that's often just to get more contrast and sharpness - which the rollei seems to have wide open...
Empire, very moody picture!
Here is what Rollei's triangular bokeh can look like. The cropped picture below demonstrates a criss-cross pattern it may result in: http://i018.radikal.ru/1004/52/fafb40aa4c6e.jpg
btw, those with the Rollei mounts, did yours come with a crappy plastic lens cap? I got one with mines that has Rollei on it but its not even a tight fit and always comes off when I have it in the bag.

also, where can i find a hood for it?
My cam fits tightly. Very nice actually. I got a petal shape hood with mine. Donīt know if it is original.
Guys, I want to thank you for your contributions. Thanks to them Iīm now a happy owner of both the Contax 35mm f/1.4 and a 7D. You see I got myself a 35L a year ago because I believed the forums. And yes, it was sharp from corner to corner from wide open and even sharper slightly stopped down. For sure one of Canons best. But... I never found a reason to love it. I really tried. Could it be the focal length that does not suit me? Then this thread appeared, and I found the Contax 1.4 at ffordes. As resistance is futile, I bought it. No, it was not the focal length. The L images are totally flat. So a few evenings ago I shot the sunset with both, found the Zeiss superior in every way (except maybe corner sharpness wide open), made the decision, and traded the 35L for the 7D today. Thank you!
