This one was more turquoise on the day, as I recall. The red-ish is actually the dark brown of a dried out eucalyptus leaf.

Wow, these are excellent shots, Mark. Very well lit and exposed.

What a strangely fascinating creature. How big overall? Your eucalyptus leaves are very complementary to the weevil's coloration. Lovely shots, mate, very well done.

Hey Ken, this one was the same size as the other light coloured one, you can see my thumb in one of the shots in M2 - https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/838072 about 1/2 - 3/4 inch? This one sat still while the other didn't stop moving more than a few seconds.

I'm with Kenny, what a strangely fascinating creature.
It looks all fuzzy wuzzy and covered in fancy velvet.
Are you sure that it is on Gum Leaves?

Thanks Brian and Bruce. I'm not sure what it's on but the background in #1 and #2, brown/red is a dried gum leaf.
